I headcanon that it doesn’t hurt Oswald much to be held by his ears, but it does hurt to be pulled by them, wether it’s to stop him from moving or wandering somewhere. Just like how you would like to be pulled by your hair if someone suspects you’re going to move elsewhere and stops you in that way.
