hey di you know what i think? ot5 were surely in love but there was one problem: it was all going way too fast. They loved each other but never had the time to process or cherish their love. They were packing off the minute they landed..hardly getting any time to process both the good and bad of the 1d experience. And i guess they felt tired of not being able to process anything. But they loved each other and it was very very real. Idk how but I feel it in my heart.

there is nothing they said louder, more often, or in as many ways. you can always take that to the bank. you can always count on the heart of 1d.

but they also repeatedly, consistently emphasized that the pace and demands of being on a 1d touring contract was way too much for them all. they were kids! being asked to do a level of demanding job that adults won’t even do! no one tours worldwide and puts out an album every year nonstop for 5 years!!

of course they were in love, but along the way, they grew up into adults who learned, like we all do - that love is not enough. there must be more, to maintain.

and that’s okay. i don’t begrudge them that. i don’t think any of us do, who still feel the echo of that love. <3

i am sitting in an airport watching connections and missed connections between human beans and all i can think about is future ot5 all having a layover in the same airport and niall skipping to a stop in the exec lounge as he sees two still-familiar heads bent over a collection of messy cards and louis looking up from where he's almost knees to knees with zayn and sorta shrugging his shoulders at niall like saying, 'what can you do?' and 'yeah, i know. yeah.' and niall laughing quietly and feeling a tsunami and curling down next to them and zayn's soft crinkle cut smile is easy, and his hands are gentle and later liam walks in with a kfc bag and a soft, 'oh, boys' and an even softer 'can i?' and after liam has been dealt in and dealt hugs, they're all sorta eyeing each other and thinking the same thing but how do you tempt fate when fate has given them so, so much, already, for so long but - but an hour in, there's a quiet shuffle of scuffed boots and they all look up to see harry, pigeon-toed and edging closer, closing the left open circle and all of them take a breath and finally,finally,finally, let it out.

they all miss their flights. (it's all okay.)
