Idk I'm just like.. Thinking about Encanto again and I don't personally think Mirabel forgave Abuela's actions, I think she forgave the person. She's not saying "I forgive you" when she reconciles with Abuela, she's saying "I understand you." She's saying I understand now what you went through, I understand why you've done the things you've done. Abuela says "we are broken because of me" and Mirabel never says anything to indicate otherwise. Instead she says "nothing could ever be broken that we can't fix together." An acknowledgement that yes, we are broken, yes it was in part because of your actions, no matter how well-intentioned, but you've taken that first step to making up for your mistakes and we're going to get through this as a family.
