been having sooooo many i lov u wittgenstein thoughts lately
why not have the reader re-read a sentence now and then? it won't hurt him....
Yesterday I had a child say “you did not understand my question” so I said “okay, will you rephrase it for me and I’ll see if I understand better this time?”
Yesterday I had a child stand for about thirty seconds formulating a response and I asked other kids to wait patiently so I could hear her out.
Yesterday I said “hey, can you save your question until the end?” and the child said “I really want you to listen to me” and I listened.
Kids get enough pressure to make their conversation and etiquette “correct” and sometimes I think making connections with them is about letting them be in a safe space to break the rules sometimes.
"Absolutely no one comes to save us but us."

HEY wanna read but annoyed on where to find copies of books?
Here's an archive with millions of PDFs of books and papers and magazines and essays and stuff.
I've been looking for such archives, thanks
the leftism leaving people's bodies when they continue to hound someone over behavior that was accounted for, apologized for, and corrected years ago - people got on board for prison abolition then said "and let's replace that with perpetual ostracization and shame to the point where they can no longer function in society :) this is better because We, The Community, are pushing them toward suicide"

my friend's puppy has baffling levels of attitude for someone who's only been around for a handful of months. he understands concepts like deceit and civil disobedience and other things i didn't fully grasp until well into my 20s. this guy doesn't even know the seasons loop yet. he's probably like okay spring. what's next. some other new bullshit i bet

everything is about sex. except for sex of course, which is about baseball
My first time operating CCTV cameras I was handed control over what was essentially 50 independently moving eyes that collectively covered an area about the size of a football field and from that experience I now know that
Suddenly having 50 moving eyes can make you disoriented and barfy and the adjustment period sucks ass
It takes both more and less time than you’d think to figure out what the structure as a whole looks like and where those eyes ARE
After you get used to it the entirety of the structure itself and all of the eyes you can see from feels like an extension of your nervous system in a very bizarre way. Like I have dreams now from the perspective of A Building and I’m not sure how to describe that.
Once you are aware of an unreachable blind spot it nags at you constantly and you can feel it like a hard little lump under your skin you need to poke and scratch at and it’s ardghgguychgghhbhhhbhhh
Unexpected rift among security specialists on this one as 50% of respondents say “Yeah I know exactly what you mean” and the other half drop in just to say “no OP is just a freak”
keep thinking about how I wrote in my dissertation about how every time a new form of public/social space emerges it's immediately popular with kids and teenagers who see it as a chance at freedom and then adults colonise it and kick them out. this happened with malls in the 80s and diners in the 50s and pool halls in the 20s. my dad was doing research on this trend in like 1975. and I was like "yeah so this is going to happen to the internet" and then five years later every government suddenly decided to ban kids from everywhere online. I hate being right especially when I don't even get paid for it
