I'll put in a little extra about the hair lore under the line because Ot and her hair resides in my cranium rent free:

Guess what, the locs got a tragic lore. Not shown is Ot locs her hair after her Adaia's death so nobody else braids it. It also happens to be a low-maintenance style so she keeps it.

The first time she fully submerges herself in a river during the Blight, her locs try to assassinate her by pulling her head down under the water. Zevran's attempt at killing her has nothing on the sheer weight of wet locs.

Cuts off the length in the Deep Roads after The Horrors™ of the broodmothers are discovered because she'd rather not get grabbed in the dark and scaries.

After cutting off her locs, she does keep them and occasionally reattaches them. Alistair thinks she is secretly a mage for this inexplicable overnight hair growth.

Yes, Alistair has tried his hand at retwisting her locs, and no, she does not let him do the visible parts. He lives in ignorant bliss and is just happy to "help", it's like giving your little brother an unplugged controller.

There's ten years between Awakening and Inquisition and she becomes comfortable enough (practically and emotionally hehe) to maintain her hair without it being locced, imagine some braids and twists in there. By the time she's searching for a cure to the Calling though she's mostly keeping it wrapped on the road.

As the effects of the taint set in, most of her hair falls out. 😔

On a less depressing not, I so have to draw some Modern AU Ot because I think she'd like to do many different styles, she is unfortunately limited to pure practicality in Blight-fighting Dragon Age land. Expect to see more hairstyles on the horizon. 🙂‍↕️
