Game Review: Otome
I finished Sweet Fuse: At Your Side forever and a day ago so it is time to start reviewing and writing. In Japan it was known as Bomb Decision.
Synopsis and Gameplay: (slight spoilers)
Sweet Fuse is a mystery and romance visual novel typicak in the otome game fashion. The player assumes the role of Saki Inafune, and endures seven days of death games. Just like any otome game you pick between different responses for Saki to say. Picking the correct responses will give the player an "affection point" for a particular character's romance route. Of course the higher you make the affection the closer you get to that character's route when it splits to character route.
There are moments during which Saki will become irate, indicated by the screen shaking and turning red, and the player will have to choose between having her restrain her anger or letting it out. These are by far my favorite parts of the game! The MC (Saki) is not mousey!
The "Explosive Insight" sections take place when Saki must find a solution or an answer to a problem. These are puzzle parts of the game, sort of, when Saki recalls the situation to herself, with a number of keywords and phrases in her thoughts highlighted. The player can pick up to three highlighted words or phrases to select. The player prompts Saki's epiphany if one of their selections is correct! If the player does not select the correct phrases, a bad ending will usually occur and they are prompted to try again.
The game follows a branching plot line with multiple endings. Normal route goes from Stage 1 to 3 and then based off of your affection it is a romantic route from stage 4 to 7. There are bad endings and good endings.
Console: PSP, however I played on the Vista purchasing it on PS store. Nort sure if that is still available

Pros: Fun Mystery, sassy main character, loved the main cast of guys
Cons: repetitive through normal route, hated secret character, overall result of mystery was a bit lackluster
