Honestly i don't even know what "honhonhon" sounds irl but I assure you French people laugh like any human being.

And yes, we eat baguette, we love it. At least for most of the population. You come to a french house, they must have baguette. Every bakery sells baguette, and every year there is an award for the best baguette (and the president eats the baguettes from the awarded bakery i shit you not). Even in restaurants you can ask for bread and its 100% free, I had a friend who went to Spain and was legitimately surprised that they charged for eating bread from the bread basket.
