Turn the record over [roommates to lovers drabble]
[hiiii! due to the love on this post, i decided to write a drabble for the characters mentioned in those prompts and i literally love them so much. enjoy <3]
“it’s so late, why aren’t they home yet?”
Character A rolled over to check their phone.
11:00PM.
it really wasn’t that late, and Character B had really only been gone for three hours.
“this is so unfair.” they complained as they opened up the messages app.
A: i miss you :(
B: miss you too, sweetheart. is everything ok? x
A sighed out loud. they hated taking their partner away from a night out with friends, but needs must.
A: everything’s fine, how much longer will you be gone for? :/
B: not sure, it’s pretty boring tbh x
A saw the opportunity.
A: it’s not boring here… pretty exciting actually
B: you little shit. on my way home, babe x
mission? accomplished.
cuddles? imminent.
twenty minutes passed before A heard B’s key in the door.
“A?” B’s voice softly rang through their shared apartment.
their footsteps creaked towards the bedroom door. the door to the room that once belonged to only B, that now belonged to both of them. they opened the door to find A swaddled in a blanket and soft music playing from the record player in the corner.
B walked to the record player and turned the record over before moving to the bed. they kicked off their shoes and removed their jacket.
“were you lonely, sweetheart?” they cooed in A’s ear, pulling them closer and climbing under the covers.
A mumbled “can’t sleep without you here,” in response.
it didn’t take long for A to be softly snoring in B’s arms. B preferred it here to that stupid party anyway.
[sorry it’s kinda short, i really hope you enjoyed it and i’m excited to write more for them :) pls follow me on tiktok and instagram @/miakate.writes <3 if you have any requests just submit them into my asks box!]
Harry Potter frowned as he looked over at Draco Malfoy, as the blonde in question was fidgeting in a very un-Malfoyesque manner.
Today was the 4 year anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts, and as such most of the students who had participated in the battle were staying in Hogsmead. Since the magnificent castle had been restored, Hogwarts had thrown a banquet for the current students and alumni who wished to attend, to remember those who were lost and to celebrate the end of Voldemort and the beginning of a new life.
Harry cocked his head to one side as he thought to himself, ‘Has it really been four years already?’ For the four year anniversary of the battle of Hogwarts meant that in two weeks, he and Draco will have been dating for three years.
Harry looked over at Draco again from under the balcony shielding them from the torrential downpour that had taken Draco, him, and their whole party by surprise. Draco was still fidgeting but now he was also whispering conspiratorially to Ron, Hermione, Neville, Luna, Blaise, and Pansy; their unlikely group of now very close friends.
Harry frowned again, moving closer and opening his mouth to ask what they were planning without him, when Draco spoke up.
“Alright, we’re doing this.” Draco announced, stopping Harry in his tracks out of confusion.
“Doing wha— Draco!?” Harry let out a yelp, a manly yelp thank you very much, as Draco grabbed his arm and dragged him into the downpour of rain and instantly soaking them both to the skin. Their friends following behind, after casting an impervious charm on themselves to protect them from the rain.
Draco, his blonde hair going almost clear and becoming plastered to his forehead and his white dress shirt plastering itself to his skin, was deaf to the protests of an equally wet and bedraggled Harry as he dragged the other to the gates of the castle.
“Draco, where are we going??” Harry griped in frustration, pulling off his glasses and wiping them fruitlessly on his sodden T-shirt. When he put his glasses back on he frowned in confusion, Draco was no longer standing in front of him.
He looked down, and saw Draco, all his clothes wet and sticking to his skin, kneeling in the mud. In his hands was a small black and velvety ring box.
“Harry Potter,” Draco started, opening the box to reveal a beautiful band of intertwining silver and gold, with a single small ruby and two smaller emeralds encrusted in the band, “Will you marry me?”
As his eyes filled with tears that mixed instantly with the rain, Harry found that he could only laugh. It was a laugh of pure joy as well as amusement at the image of the normally pristine Draco kneeling, absolutely soaked, in the mud.
Draco’s pale skin flushed to his ears, “I know it’s not a perfect proposal,” he started with yet another in-Malfoy thing, babbling, “I had a grand plan of what I wanted to do but I waited too long and then it started to rain and it didn’t look like it was going to stop but I felt that if I didn’t do it today I would—“
Harry smiled, “Of course I will marry you, Malfoy,” he said, interrupting the babbling, “this is perfect.” He held out his hand, and Draco took the ring from the box and placed it on Harry’s finger. Harry could barely see out of his rain-streaked glasses but hugged and kissed Draco all the same.
“Honestly,” came the warm yet brisk voice of Hermione Granger, “Are you wizards or aren’t you?”
Harry and Draco could only laugh as Hermione stalked forward good naturedly and started to cast various impervious, scouring, and drying charms on the pair of them, tutting all the while. Their friends stood in the background, laughing at the pair of them, Ron and Blaise letting out a few wolf whistles and Pansy slipping a freshly shrunken camera into her robe pocket.
*******
Inspired by the way my fiancé proposed to me, rain and all.
Summary: 4 short drabbles for @cora-nova ABC of Love. @alj4890 requested I do a few of the letters for this pair I hope you like the letters I picked. (Drabbles are 166-203 words in length each)
A/N: I should be working on chapter 4 of these two(it’s almost finished I should buckle down and finish it) but I felt so bad because of WFB I ended up doing these. Mostly fluffy with a smidge of angst thrown in.
Disclaimer: I don’t own the characters, I’m just borrowing them from PB.
A - ANNIVERSARIES
[which holidays they celebrate, how they celebrate the holidays, which events are important to them, birthdays etc.]
“I don’t understand why we have to go out. It’s no big deal, just another day.” Olivia said putting in her earring.
Bastien wrapped his arms around her waist, he locked eyes with her in the mirror as he leaned over, resting his chin on her shoulder. “It’s your birthday it should be celebrated.
Olivia rolled her emerald eyes. “It’s just another day, it’s never been anything special and it doesn’t have to change.” She fought to keep her lip from quivering as she spoke. She hadn’t truly celebrated her birthday since before her parents tried to overthrow Constantine. When she was young she longed to be celebrated the way Liam and Leo were. Even Drake’s small family get togethers were something she envied. She has gotten used to it not meaning anything.
Bastien stood upright kissing her crown, eyes still locked on hers. “Yes it does.”
“Fine.” Olivia said biting back a smile. Maybe it would be nice to be celebrated again. She would try for him.
E - EXERCISE
[do they like sports, what physical activities they take as a couple, types of sports they love to practice, are they a marathon/yoga couple or extreme/riskier sports are more on their liking etc.]
“This seems familiar.” Bastien laughed looking up at her. His was laying splayed on the mat, Olivia straddling his lap as she stared down at him.
Olivia threw back her head laughing, her eyes crinkling around the edges, he new her emerald eyes were sparkling. “I have to keep you in line somehow.” She quipped smiling at him.
“Is that what you think?” He growled, flipping her easily so he hand her pinned.
Olivia gasped as his hand ghosted up her side. “It’s what I know.” She replied arching into his touch as his hand caressed her breast. “I also know you love that I take charge.” She hooked her knee over his hip, rotating she rolled him so she was back on top.
“You learned that the first time we trained together didn’t you?” He replied with a laugh.
“And every time since.” She said leaning down to kiss him. “Maybe that’s why I like training with you so much, you don’t mind being pinned.
K - KIDS
[what are their thoughts regarding to the subject, what types of parents they are, parenting style, how did the days went when they were welcoming their babies into the world and/or into their family, where they stand regarding adoption and other alternative ways of having children etc.]
“Bas, do you want kids?” Olivia questioned glancing up from the nail she was filing.
Bastien snapped his head to her, steely grey eyes wide in surprise. Do I want kids? The question took him by surprise. He had once dreamed of having a family, but it wasn’t in the cards for him—until Olivia. But the facts remained that he was in his forties and had serious a limp from the homecoming ball shooting. Could he keep up with a child? He’d raised Drake and Savannah from young teens, but it wasn’t the same. “I haven’t thought about it in awhile, but yes.”
“Good.” Olivia said smiling as she went back to filing her nails.
Good? “Wait, why do you ask now?” He questioned his heart thundering in his chest.
“We’re pregnant.”
Bastien leapt up, pushing her back into the bed peppering her face with kisses. “I love you Livvy,”
“I take it you’re happy.” She said pushing him back. She was glad he wasn’t freaking out but the kisses where too much.
“Ecstatic.”
Y - YELLING
[who’s impulsive/emotional and who’s calm/rational, how often do they argue, who’s the first that offers the olive branch after a fight, are they using sex favors to end/win a heated discussion, what is their fighting fashion, what are the subjects/themes they are mostly debate about etc.]
“I can’t believe that asshat got away with behaving like that at the meeting!” Olivia shouted going to grab her sharpening stone. She was seething with anger that Liam allowed Neville to behave in such a manner and bulldoze them during the meeting. She needed to calm down and the best way she knew how was to sharper her blade.
“Livvy, I know but you need to calm down.” Bastien replied calmly.
Olivia spun around, her emerald eyes sparkling with rage. “You were there, don’t you think he was out of line?” She said pointing at him with her dagger. “Liam just let him take over instead of shutting him down. I can’t believe the audacity! He really thinks he’s better than the others on the council? That he knows better than we do in our own duchies! To think he thought he could tell me how to run Lythikos!”
“Liam will handle it, you know he won’t get away with it. But you really need to calm down, it’s not good for you.” He replies gesturing at her stomach.
“Fine.” Olivia said taking a deep breath. “But I need to relieve my stress somehow.”
“How do you plan to do that?”
“Strip.”
Feedback fuels me, please like, comment reblog or send an ask. Feel free to scream, I promise I can take it.
I really wanted to write a poisoncrow drabble? I wanted to write Jon being a smooth son of a bitch? I succeeded in one regard? I dunno.
Pamela noticed the cross first, a little silver thing with small black gems embedded in it, ornate, but lovely. It was looped over the branch with a length of black beads. Pamela lifted it and frowned. It looked familiar to her, as if she’d seen it on someone before.
“I think I lost it somewhere over here,” a voice chimed from far off, whoever was speaking was loud enough
“Just leave it, it’s long gone. Someone probably stole it at this point.”
“Ed, I can’t just leave it.”
“Whatever, I’ll meet you at the Iceberg Lounge.”
Pamela turned towards the gate of the park, and gritted her teeth when she recognized the speaker. Jonathan Crane, tall, dark-haired, admittedly a strange manner of handsome, and unnerving in the sort of way that made Pamela motivated to not look in his eyes, something she rarely could say someone motivated her to do.
Then she realized why the rosary in her hands was so familiar, it was usually looped around Jonathan’s wrist.
Jonathan approached, looking distracted and scanning the tree Pamela had retrieved the rosary from.
“This what you’re looking for?” Pamela held up the object on her index finger. Jonathan glanced at her, then at the rosary, then grinned. It was even creepier than his neutral expression. He looked like a morbid porcelain doll. He quickly snatched the rosary and looped it around his wrist as normal.
“Thanks, was it in the tree?” he looked up at the oak tree behind Pamela, “I was up there earlier.”
“You never struck me as much of a nature lover.”
“You never struck me as someone who cared,” Jonathan remarked, “I grew up in a small town in the South, nature’s everywhere there, though not as bad as Florida where Waylon grew up. Ever seen a gator up close?”
“No,” Pamela shook her head.
“Back in Arlen there was this lake full of ‘em, I swear there was a fifteen-footer in there. Got thrown in once, didn’t even get bit.”
“You’re proud a bunch of carnivores didn’t eat you?”
“Wouldn’t you be?”
Pamela considered this for a moment, then nodded. All things considered she probably would be proud of that.
“Anyway,” Jonathan adjusted the beads on his rosary so they wrapped more comfortably, “I have a meeting I’m being forced to attend thanks to everyone’s favorite puzzlemaster, but I figure now’s a good time to ignore that such a thing ever existed and inquire if you like ice cream.”
Pamela raised an eyebrow. Jonathan was really blatantly asking her out, but she had no clue how to respond to it.
“Well, gelato, there’s a really good place about a block over that just opened. I mean I can find other ways to circumvent Eddie’s special meeting with my ex which is probably an intervention but I figured we could trash talk Joker together and talk about how much he sucks.”
“Do you do anything with tact?”
“Ask me that later.”
“Ok,” Pamela shrugged, “I don’t have anything better to do and you seem like the type who pays.”
“Uh, this time I’ll pay but alright.”
Pamela smirked and looked Jonathan up and down. He was unnerving, tall, spindly, and reminded Pamela utterly of a creepy porcelain doll, but he was, in reality, just a bedraggled dork.
“So,” Pamela asked as they walked into the gelato store, “are you going to answer my question?”
“Which one?” Jonathan scanned the menu but paused and glanced at Pamela.
“Do you do anything with tact?”
“I mean I got you to go on a date with me, right?”
Pamela looked at Jonathan, and realized he was smirking.
“You son of a bitch.”
“You knew I was asking you out.”
Pamela growled and turned away; he was right about that.
“You’re mad.”
“Not at you.”
“Sorry, I didn’t think you’d react well if I came right out and said I liked you. Harl says you’re not fond of men.”
“Nope, I absolutely refuse to touch that.” Olivia said backing away, a look of disgust on her face. She could handle a lot of things, but that is where she drew the line.
“Come on we have to move it, we can’t just leave it here.” Jax replied. In the short time he knew Olivia he had never seen her back down from any challenge, alive or dead and he couldn’t figure out why she was so hesitant now.
“Burn it. Quick easy and I don’t have to touch it.”
“Come on Duchess. The quicker we deal with this the quicker we can get back.” Jax said tucking her crimson hair behind her ear. “Besides the flask is empty, so can’t burn it.”
“You touch dead bodies all the time. What’s different about this one?”
“For one, it’s twice dead. Two, you better figure out how to deal with it one your own cause I’m not touching any dead zombie dog.” She said moving to walk away. “Oh and make sure you shower when you get back.”
If they were in a zombie apocalypse AU, how would they meet?
Raven ran, pushing her body to its limits, running with all her might. She was close, almost reaching the building that she was praying was clear and not a hot zone like the rest of the god forsaken town. She stumbled, tripping over the crumbling sidewalk. “Noooo!” She screamed, dread filling her stomach. She had been so close, she could feel the end looming around her.
Muscular arms encircled her waist pulling her back to her feet. The stranger released his grip, his hand grabbing hers, “run!”
Their feet hit the pavement, the breath in her lungs burned as she ran at full speed at the strangers side. They reached the building, wrenching the door open, running in, slamming the door shut behind them.
“Is it clear?” Raven asked, her legs giving way as she collapsed against the door.
“I think so.” The stranger said, his deep voice reverberating through the large open space.
Raven looked up, finally taking in the tall obsidian haired stranger that saved her life. He was y’all and lean, her mind wandering trying to figure out what he might have done before the end of the world, before the dead walked the earth.
“I’m Liam.” He said, holding out his hand, his deep voice breaking through her moment of daydreams.
Her cheeks turned a deep shade of pink, she wondered how long he had been trying to get through to her. “Raven.” She replied, placing her smaller hand his larger one.
Liam pulled her to her feet, taking in her espresso hair, and chocolate brown eyes. His eyes swept over her voluptuous curves, small smile gracing his face the first time since the day the world changed. He felt a pull, a need to be near her and keep her safe. He knew he wouldn’t be walking away without her by his side.
