Eddie & Chrissy Parent Headcannons

Most of these I’ve seen focus more on Eddie as a dad which is great and adorable but I think there’s so much to be said about Chrissy as a mom and them as co-parents!

Pt. 1 Chrissy

Chrissy slowly works on recovery from her ED after her near death experience so she’s already in a much better place by the time she gets pregnant but it’s still stressful. She works extra hard with her therapist and leaning on Eddie to not relapse because she wants her baby to be as healthy and nourished as possible and not get shortchanged on account of her own demons.

Once their daughter is born, however, the stress of that all but disappears and she’s just in awe of their baby girl and what her body was able to do.

Sometimes she’ll spend hours sitting back on the rocking chair with BB in the nursery watching her stretch and smile and coo.

Just like Eddie is paranoid about making the same mistakes as his father, Chrissy is bound and determined to not be like her mother. It kind of freaks her out when they end up having two daughters just because she doesn’t want history to repeat itself.

As it turns out, there’s nothing to be scared of. Chrissy loves her kids so much, she can’t imagine trying to change one thing about them. She ends up having a serious convo with Eddie about this as it opens up some long dormant wounds about her mother and what could possibly be so wrong with her that she was never ever good enough.

Eddie always listens and reassures her that her mother’s issues were her own and she doesn’t deserve to take responsibility for them

She relishes in being silly with her family and being able to relax around them. Their holidays are never that formal but she likes to think up creative ways to make the day special, like making confetti on New Years Eve and baking pizza on Thanksgiving (I see them having a super close family but definitely more unconventional because of their own not so great upbringings in Hawkins)

She’s super encouraging of any hobbies her girls pick up and always makes an effort to learn more about what they’re interested in

She’s always vigorous about instilling self confidence in her kids and making sure they feel beautiful and comfortable in their own skin, especially once the girls hit puberty

She’s the resident mom of all her girls’ friends

Their little family is so close, even as the kids get older and become adults and it’s truly one of her greatest accomplishments in life

When Eddie drives Chrissy to college, she absolutely loves singing “Call Me Al”, changing Betty to Eddie and I will not accepting any arguments.
