This little horse of mine... we haven’t had a real dressage school in a couple of weeks and Cody was just stellar this afternoon. Hi everyone! 🙋🏼‍♀️ . I hope you're all doing great and the new year sees you all well. It's been a minute since my last post, so thought I'd better get back into it! . This week Phoenix came back in to start some groundwork and light exercise - he's enjoyed a long holiday while I've been off unwell! We don't have any big goals at the moment as I'm not allowed to ride - I'm just enjoying my boy from the ground, and doing a bit of conditioning work with him. Like I often say - horse hair and dirt is great medicine 💕 . We're still trying to work out what's happening with me, I've had 7 scans since Nov, lots of bloods, and next week I have another specialist appointment. Basically the main issue is that I haven't been able to eat, and I've had horrendous tummy pain and a bit of nausea. . My drs are pretty sure it's an issue combining my liver, bile ducts, and gallbladder, so hopefully they can get me sorted asap 🤞✨️ . In the meantime im just doing what i can, but also listening to my body (for once) and trying not to push it too much. It feels wonderful to be back out there with my favourite pony though! . I'll keep the updates coming- it may be slow going, but we all know I love a challenge! 😅 Bring on our comeback 💕 . Hey everyone! 🙋🏼‍♀️ . Hope you're all doing well and enjoying the sunshine - much needed and appreciated after all the rain we've had! . It's been a minute since my last update, but life has been a bit mental (I'm saying that like it's a new occurrence, lol! 😅🙈) . We've been on a bit of a roller coaster with my health in the last couple of weeks; more scans and doctors visits etc, and unfortunately I haven't had much energy to get outside. On the bright side, I couldn't have done much with all the rain and mud about, anyway! . After a few sunny days I've felt a bit more recharged, so today I rotated their paddocks, fixed a fence, and contacted a local instructor to come help us get our journey properly started. . It will be a bit slower going than what I imagined, but now that we know a bit more about what's going on with me health-wise, and I've found some extra support, I'm definitely looking forward to taking that leap and getting cracking again 💪😁 . With summer right around the corner, I'm excited to get my fitness up, spending more time outside, and getting back in the saddle 🥰☀️ . Hey everyone! 🙋🏼‍♀️ . Today was such a good day, and I really had some positivity and gratitude vibes going! We had sunshine, I woke up feeling decent-ish, and the motivation was strong with this one - three things that severely haven't been the case for several weeks 🙈 . Jay had a rare day off, so he ran El to school for me while I did some tidying, we planted another willow tree, and we gave the laneways a nice spruce up as they were a bit overgrown from all the rain we've had. . In the afternoon I brought Phoenix in for a workout - still 'feeling his oats' as they say, but he settled in much quicker than last time, and was such a good boy. You can tell when they're really trying hard! 💕 . At the moment we're just focusing on building him back up again, working on both of our fitness, and then I'll organise him a massage and press on with the ridden work. It was so nice to get outside and get some pony time in, I felt almost human again after being sick for the last couple of months. . Just goes to show that a bit of sun, dirt, and horse hair really is great for the soul 🥰 . Phoenix 🔥 . Two posts in two days, who dis!? 😂 . Another day in iso with beautiful weather and kids napping during the day - so I couldn't possibly pass up the opportunity to take my boy for another spin! . Today we did a bit more of the rhythm and suppling/stretching work that we played around with yesterday. As I was riding today, I got a song stuck in my head from my Dads favourite artist, and I found it was a great match for Phoenix's trot - so I kept him going in time with it, and he produced some really lovely work! 😍 . Thats my little go-to hack with flatwork, get a good song stuck in your head and ride to it 😂👌 My arena paddock is on a little slope, so it's a good challenge for both horse and rider to keep the rhythm consistent; not rushing down the hill, or running out of steam going up! . We did some changes of direction, keeping our rhythm, and even added some lateral steps, making the circle bigger or smaller as we went. He even offered me a lovely canter going both ways, staying soft and settled the whole time, too. He was an absolute super star, I really can't fault him 🥰🌟 . I think I fall even more in love with this horse every time I ride him, he really is something else! Looking forward to giving him a pamper and a day off work tomorrow, definitely needs a wash so we can think about giving him a haircut soon 🥰 . Phoenix 🔥 . Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well! . We've had a quiet few weeks here while I've been getting my health back on track; long story sort, the supplements I was given made me sick, so we're trying another approach with a few diet changes, and so far so good! 👌 . I've been sleeping better, and I've found that with higher energy levels, I'm able to sustain a few workouts per week - something that I've been really missing. . Today I pulled Phoenie bean out of the paddock for a ride, and as always he was a superstar! 🌟 We did a bit of what we worked on last ride; lots of stretching, and getting him soft, bendy, and forward. I felt stronger through my core as well from my gym time, so I feel like we're both in a really good spot at the moment! . Iso isn't so bad when you live on acres, so I'm hoping to get a few rides in this week while we're home, and the weather is reasonably nice 🥰 .
