Color!! Repurposing an old grocery tote bag with some boro style patchwork and sashiko. Everything is basted into place for the two panels including a pocket that we’ll add a zipper to later. We needed something to carry our stuff around in at Camp STITCHES Vermont so we’re making our own customized with the features we want. And that’s a wrap on day three of STITCHES West 2018! The highlight of the day was definitely getting to see all of the creativity in the student fashion show tonight. The Wonder Woman tribe was back and worked the stage wearing their capes… an original design by Creusa Gilmore (find her on Ravelry. The Creusa strutted her stuff wearing a one of a kind design she created. Not to be outdone, Arica of @skeinsnsticks walked two of her designs (two of our favorites!) down the runway. What an amazing day! It's hot in Seattle. Some of y'all are used to this but we're melting up here in the upper left corner. Days like this we close all the blinds and curtains and are grateful for our OttLites to work under. No kidding here… Shannon is working in a completely dark room with a fan blowing on him (and iced coffee nearby naturally) and one of his OttLite floor lamps over his shoulder. This photo is the actual clear, true light from the lamp. TOTAL coincidence that his Clover Amour hook coordinates perfectly with the Valley Yarns Conway he is working with.
