so is the claw thing on your scarecrow some sort of like a spooky prosthetic, or is he just holding it with his hand under the sleeve
I did intentionally leave it a bit ambiguous, but realistically it is a prosthetic when you take into account the length of his other arm. With him intentionally having it to be spooky. Also this isn't what you asked, but if you indulge me I'm more than willing to describe the decision to include it and how it would be utilized
Originally I wanted the claw hand to be a full on scythe due to both it being farming equipment and commonly being associated with the grim reaper (also part of the reasoning for the hood) but went for a more claw like appearance as it allows for me to do more posing and be used for expression. With it being inspired by scythes still as well as big claws you usually see on a lot of monsters and various claw like weapons. I also used it to add in some asymmetry to the design and give it a more distinct silhouette.
In terms of function due to the claws not being able to bend it is incapable of holding things unless he does it like a shish kebab. Instead it is primarily a weapon in combat and intimidation tactic.
When it comes to combat I drew from the comics and have him fling himself around in a twisted and violent dance, with him throwing his weight around alot to swing his claw hand towards his opponent in order to slash them. On the outset it looks clumsy and awkward, but every movement is purposeful.
When it comes to intimidation there is the obvious of big ass claw hand. He also will do things like threaten to slice someone up with them or gently tap them on someone's skin. I also imagine him dragging it across the ground or scratching up a wall when he's going after someone. Similar to a lot of horror movies. In order to cause the target to be more scared during the chase and on edge. Something he absolutely delights in.
Also should mention he loves his big claw hand and wouldn't have it any other way
