Street Samurai: Just a beat I put together with the Waldorf Nave app on my iPad.
My first effort with the new Roland JX-8P. I started off programming the pad and ended up with a snippet of soundtrack to a sci-fi noir/thriller show that exists only in my mind. Drums from the Volca Beats and the Monotribe, the latter of which also supplies blips and bleeps. The Monotribe runs through a Malekko Ekko 616 analog delay pedal.
Some FM bass nostalgia. I'm probably going to have to remix/re-record this, but I wanted to get a rough mix down. I feel like I've been dancing to this sort of bass groove my whole damn life. Main bass groove is a 2-operator FM patch: The MS-20 Mini is frequency-modulated by a Pittsburgh Modular Oscillator, tracked with a Harvestman English Tear. Then, the bass goes through a series of effects stompboxes: a Malekko Ekko 616 analog delay, then a TC Electronic Mini-HoF Reverb, then, finally, the Boss CH-1 Super Chorus, going out in stereo. Volca Beats for the drums. The other synth part is sequenced on a Volca Bass, running through a Monotron Delay.
