Morning noodles~
First breakfast in Guangzhou!
We went out for breakfast today and the restaurant had a really nice atmosphere. We ordered red rice crispy shrimp rice rolls, har gow, cháng fěn, char siu buns, noodles with pork sauce, xiao long bao, and tofu skin rolls.
The flavors actually reminded me more of what I used to eat in Thailand than northern Chinese food. But the noodles with pork sauce were completely different from what I expected. In Thailand they usually mix the noodles with barbecue pork sauce and serve them with char siu. When the dish arrived without a single piece of pork, I was a little shocked. The sauce was also so mild that it almost tasted like plain noodles. Luckily, everything else was delicious.
A chillexing moment when you wake up and cook at a slow pace.
Breakfast today started with a soy milk omelet. I ran out of eggs, so I added soy milk to stretch it a bit 😂. Then there was a Chinese-style egg burger, boiled sticky corn, half a boiled egg each, sausage, and two small fried youtiao, made especially for my husband.
