Kiss the girl, get the key 🔐
our man bashir our man bisexual. that was all I got from that episode
which bond do you think is Julian’s favorite? He seems to prefer the 60s theme of Connery and Moore. I personally think Moore but I don’t know why. Vibes mostly.
Noah’s place on Everest was a callout to OHMSS whereas his name comes from Dr. No. Lazenby and Connery respectively. Baccarat is in Thunderball as well as the casino royale book. Noah’s outfit was also obviously a take on Dr. no’s outfit.
Kira’s Russian character was probably the spy who loved me. So was Julian’s parachute comment since Bond has a Union Jack parachute in that movie. She could also be the woman (Tanya? Idr) from From Russia with Love but to me I was reminded more of the spy who loved me bc they had to work to the to stop a common enemy.
Worfs character was interesting. He reminded of Jaws a bit. Dax of course could’ve been any of the Bond girls, especially with a name like Honey Bare. I think Julian’s valet was loosely based on Goodnight. I’m not sure entirely who miles was. At least not off the top of my head. He feels like any lower level Bond villain tbh. His character felt like it belonged in a later bond movie the most to me.
Both Moonraker and the spy who loved me have similar plots to Noah’s plan to cleanse the world in lava. Garak feels loosely like Felix but if Felix was kind of a dick and also got turned on from getting shot in the neck.
Though the later bond movies hadn’t come out yet, presumably Julian has seen bond movies that we can’t even imagine. I bet he also thinks Timothy dalton is the most book accurate.
Round 3 Battle 18
DS9: S4, E10 - Our Man Bashir
DS9: S6, E10 - The Magnificent Ferengi
ENT: S1, E07 - The Andorian Incident
Our Man Bashir: Crew members barely escape a runabout explosion that ruins the transporter and traps their patterns in Bashir's secret agent holosuite fantasy.
The Magnificent Ferengi: At the request of the Grand Nagus, Quark puts together a mission to rescue Quark's mother, who is in the hands of the Dominion.
The Andorian Incident: Archer, Trip and T'Pol are captured by the Andorians at a Vulcan monastery on P'Jem. They believe that the monastery is being used to spy on Andoria.
Okay James Bond is pretty cool but why did he throw a good samaritan who can't swim into the water, barely holding on to a life preserver, and leave him to fend for himself!?
Also apparently they abused the sharks, not good 😒
I think I'll have to try another one with fewer water scenes, I need inspiration for an early Julian Bashir Secret Agent mission, what should I watch??
If Julian stopped to make a quick social media update right before the end of Our Man Bashir
IT IS HERE The long awaited Our Man Bashir fic hath arrived! Packed to the brim with Garak's yearning and particular brand of melodrama!
