Your whole life has been peaceful and contained in a small bubble. You lived with your grandparents your whole life within a small village, you knew everyone within your little world.
Everyone was friendly and knew each other. You could run down the street to pick up the recently released Shonen or Shojo manga that you could enjoy. You could run with your friends into the small river to play on hot summer days or even just go to school with the same people every year so you would never need to worry about losing them.
Yet, once you turned 17, your grandparents found it to be more beneficial for you to leave for Tokyo and live in a small apartment.
This would become the first time you would have to be alone. You flicked the light switch on to reveal the empty apartment. Your grandfather places the small box down onto the counter of what was supposed to be the kitchen - it contained a few utensils and pots to use until you manage to purchase more from a store nearby.
"The guys downstairs are bringing up your bed." He gently scratched at the tape to pull it up and off of the top. He glances at the area and hums a bit as you just stood at the entrance. The whole place was mostly in your vision, minus the bathroom that was hidden behind the kitchen's wall. "Your Nana is making sure all of your stuff is in order." He continued to speak as he places the few items he had into the drawer on the side. "Luckily we found the spare fridge and stove top to bring over." He hummed a bit as he watches you before a sigh left his lips and he moved towards you and stood by your side.
"Are you going to be alright on your own, Kiddo?" You could hear the worried tone in his voice.
As much as you wanted to cry out that you hated this. You didnt want to be within 10000 meters of Tokyo. You wanted to be back with your friends and family outside of this loud city. But you knew that your grandparents couldn't take back their deposit and rent that they spent on this apartment for you. You couldn't be ungrateful after they took you in as a baby.
" Don't worry Pops, I'll be fine!" You plastered your mask up as you grin towards him, humming happily. "I've always been an outgoing stubborn kid. Tokyo has nothing on me." You laugh towards him, seeing how his shoulders seemed to relax at seeing your reaction.
"Alright Kid-" "I'm not a kid anymore." You hummed a bit and smile towards him again. "Right, (Y/n)" He smiled towards you and reaches to gently cup your cheek, rubbing it slightly.
Soon the door would open to reveal the second elderly guardian in your life. She smiled and moved to your side instantly as your grandfather let go of your cheeks, she grabbed them to squeeze and pull at them. "My baby is growing up so fast~" She cooed at you as you laugh. "Nana! I'm not a baby anymore." "You will always be my baby, dear." As she finally let go of your cheeks. She smiled gently at you.
"I know this was sudden and such, but it still for the best for you." Best for my ass. "We have been looking for months, but we found a place thats close for you to only need to take a train out to your school." Great... "and not too far out is a place for you to continue your mountain climbing." Wait what? You glance to your own grandma as she said such a thing. She smiled seeing as it got your attention. " It may be an hour or two out, but the trains can get you there faster." You silently sigh at hearing it was further out that you wanted it to be.
"Now since you are living here on your own." your grandmother glances towards her husband who nodded and grabbed a small box out from the one that contained the utensils earlier. This box was wrapped in a small bow and covered in a paper with your favourite colours.
You gently tugged at the bow before tearing the paper off to open up the white box underneath the sheet of paper to reveal a phone... a really old flip-phone. As you lifted the relic out from the casing. Your grandmother smiled and clapped at seeing you take it out. You quickly plastered a smile on your face at such a gift. "My own phone! Thank you Nana and Pops!"
"How did we end up with such a wonderful kid as you." Your grandma cooed before pulling you into a hug - dragging her husband along. Once the hug was pulled away, she spoke again. "Our numbers are on it already. Make sure to call us every night."
As men walked into the apartment with a few boxes containing your bed, clothes and other pieces of furniture. This was the time your grandparents gave you a final hug before departing as to not miss the next train back home.
Home.... Somewhere you wished to be.
You glance towards the boxes that got placed in your room - before the men left as everything was there. You glance towards your set of keys set on the counter.
Maybe I should check out that mountain climbing place.
After a while of struggling, you took a few train trips to finally reach a mountainous area. While you brought a few things to aid your trip. You didn't plan to follow the main trail that you could see couples take. It was a path without any proper rock climbing. What fun would that be?
You end up walking around the base before noticing a stream of water. You decided to start heading up there. While the water splashing against your boots as you walk against the slight current - it was nothing compared to what you experienced back home. You grabbed onto the rock wall and pull yourself up, ensuring to grab onto the sturdy rocks. Once reaching up the stream, you could see that there was a small path - seemingly someone else had the same idea that you've had. You sighed a bit.
This was nothing like rock climbing back home. You missed your mountain that you climbed halfway up without gear before getting scolded by your teacher and grandparents for doing on a school field trip when you were 12.
As you walked through, pushing the few branches from your head, you stumble across a sight for sure.
A guy with black hair was faced away from you as a small fire was lit. He held out something above the fire.
What is he doing? You could only silently question to yourself. Before he suddenly moved, his arm moved towards his face as he leaned down against what he was holding. As you were about to continue moving, he suddenly shouted out.
"This is the best feeling in the world!" He seemed to slouch a bit. You couldnt help but let out a small laugh, as you tried to catch yourself, he seemed to have heard before turning his head towards you who stare back at him.
"Sorry! Sorry! I couldn't help it." You laugh out a bit, attempting to wipe a tear that was trying to sneak out.
You move out from the bush you were standing in towards his small camp area before you noticed the stick settled in his hand that contained remains of what seemed to be marshmallow fluff on it. That's the best feeling in the world, huh?
The guy seemed stunned for a moment at your sudden appearance before something in his face changed as he smiled towards you. "My prince[ss], I'm happy to see you've been able to climb this mountain. It must have been really hard." He smile seemed to brighten more as he reached his hand to place on yours, lifting it upward as if he were to place a kiss on the top. "I am really proud of you."
You stare towards this strange man who started to call to you. "... Thanks dude? I'm just gonna sit down over here, if you don't mind."
He just nodded at your comment before you slipped your hand away from his and settled down onto the one log surrouding the fire. You relaxed and let out a sigh, watching the flames flicker, trying to not acknowledge the guy staring at you.
The guy couldn't help but stare blankly at your reaction to seeing him. Ouri Sakaguichi. He was the son of a famous actor and singer, alongside being part of the popular idol group known as F/ACE. How did you not react to his flirtatious move towards you. He'd expect atleast you to be flustered, maybe even have your head exploding. Yet you sat beside him, doing your own thing as if he was just anyone.
You glance back towards him. "Is... something wrong?"
"Not at all my pr-" He got cut off by you almost instantly. "You can cut that shit. I don't need you flirting with me."
Your comment irked Ouri a bit. Why would he flirt with you normally with that attitude? He was just keeping up his usual persona. Though seeing your reaction to his actions, told him that you didn't know who he was.
That was impossible. Pretty much all of Gen Z knew of F/ACE and he was a key part of the group. Though something cut off his thoughts. A buzzing of a phone. Your face scrunched up a bit before slipping your hand into your pocket to pull out what seemed to be a flip phone. You flipped it open to see who was attempting to call you before pressing a button to deny the call.
This time it was Ouri's turn to laugh. You turn your head as you watch him let out a laugh. "What are you laughing at!?" A layer of red dusted your cheeks as he continued to laugh.
"Who has a flip phone at this age, are you an old person." He wiped a tear from the corner of his eye before he glances back at you. You reached down and grabbed a handful of dirt and threw it at him which he used his arm to block.
"Shut it!" You huffed out as you glance at your own old phone. "I just got it as a gift." You glance at your phone as another call attempted to call you. 'Nana' written on the screen before you pressed the button to stop it's call. You didn't want to talk right now. You had to think of some message to send so she wouldn't keep trying to call.
"Who keeps calling you, oldie?" The nickname annoyed you but you sighed and responded. "My Nana... She just wants to check on me since its my first night alone."
"First night alone?"
"Yeah. They sent me off to Tokyo almost immediately after I turned 17." Your fists tighten a bit. "They didn't care about if I really wanted to leave. They just said it would be better for me here. Now I'm on my own without anyone I care about. It's so shitty. And it's not like I can fight against them... My Pa and Nana are getting old... I can't cause more stress and worry them about me..."
You stopped as you realised you were just starting to rant out your own issues to this stranger. "... Sorry. I shouldn't be putting my burdens on you.." You laugh softly before staring at the fire.
"It just sounds like they worry about you." The guy started to speak to you. "They care about you a lot..."
You glance at him before looking down and nodding. "Yeah... They do. I am their daughter's child after all..." You laugh softly as you stare down at the ground. Soon you felt a nudge at your shoulder before a stick of 5 marshmallows was held towards you.
"Try it." You stare at the guy before taking the sweets from his hand and held it out to the fire. He matched you as he held out his 5 marshmallows over the fire.
"So... where did you use to live?" The conversation started between the two of you. You expressed how you use to live by mountains and barely had any types of content. You never watched TV nor had internet access.
"So you really don't know anything on the internet? " You shook your head. "Nah. I could sit next to an actor on a train ride and not know who they were." Ouri stared at you and he let out a sigh of what seemed to be relief.
As much as he likes his fans, he was appreciative that you didn't know who he was. He felt as if this was the first time he could relax for a moment and be himself outside of his home.
"So what about you, marshmallow man?" Ouri's eye twitched at the nickname before looking at your smug smile. "I told you my backstory. Now you gotta tell me yours."
Ouri stared at you. The nerve of asking him to tell you everything about his family after you told him. Then again it was a fair trade. Plus if you searched online, you would know what he is about to tell you. His family isn't a secret.
"I got famous parents." You nod slightly and hum. "Oh I see. So are you like a model or something?" He shrugged a bit before continuing - not answering your question. "They are successful. So I joined the entertainment industry to be like them." He thought back to his parents. How their comments about how he will always have to strive to be first, yet while they are still in the industry... He will always be second... He thinks back to Tamon. How he always was above him when it came to F/ACE, being the center, winning against him in auditions.... He felt annoyed at the thought that he didn't realise what slipped out.
"I hate being second place to them." You stare towards him and hums a bit. He came to his own senses before he turned his head away from you.
"I understand that feeling... It sucks to not be first." You know that you probably will never be first in your grandparent's lives, especially after your mother. You loved them and they loved you. But they did it out of necessity rather than wanting you.
If your father's family was still around, would they have made you live with them?
"But you can at least prove to your parents that you can be better than them. If you keep trying. You will show em." You grinned at the guy who looked back at you.
As the two of you sat there for a moment, a ringing of a phone came from the guy as he picked it up.
"Oi what?" His annoyance came out as he waited for a response from the person on the other side before his eyebrowed knitted together and let out a sigh. "Yeah... I'm coming." He ended the call before glancing at you. He lifted his marshmallows and ate all 5 at one go. Enjoying the taste of such the sweets. He started to pack his own gear away. "I have to go. See you around Oldie."
"I'm not that old!" You hissed as he threw his bag on his back. He headed back down the way you came up.
You watched him leave before thinking to yourself. I wish I got his name... Maybe we will run into each other again...
As Ouri headed down. He reached the bottom, grabbing a gorilla mask that was hidden in his bag before he placed it on his head. He had to get going as an event was happening later that night with F/ACE.
He left the mountainous area before going to take the train back. As he got into the train, grabbing onto the pole to keep himself steady. He thought to himself - not realising his hand rested against his chest as heat raised to his cheeks a bit. I wish I got their name.
A/N: I'll write a part 2 if people desire it as it was getting too long haha..
