I’ve got a random bruise on my chin, and I really don’t know where I’ve got it from, because as far as I know, I haven’t hit my face on anything today and I haven’t been in a fist fight. I reckon I’ve just punched myself while I was asleep last night, but I’m gonna go ahead and say that I wrestled a bear, because it’ll make me look good.

Went out this weekend to go do some dancing and I forgot just how much fun it is. And no, not just going out to a club and dancing, even though it is fun in its own. I am talking salsa, ballroom and tango. Please tell me there are some people who enjoy it too. I would love to be able to find myself a dance partner to go out with.

Being a first time dog mom is confusing sometimes. Mi princesa has been hiding out ever since the storm, but when I got home a couple of days ago, she clung to me and hasn’t left my side since. When I leave, she cries and when I get home, she jumps right back into my lap again. I’m not complaining, it’s actually nice. I’m just wondering why she’s so clingy. Is she trying to comfort me? Can she sense that I’m stressed? These are things I’d like to know.

Not that I’m actively trying to be the Grinch around here but can’t we put Christmas on pause for, like, a second or two? There’s still too much shit that I have to get done before Christmas. Plus I’m still trying to think how the fuck we got to this point of the year again. I mean, December is a reminder that I’ve done fucking nothing all year. So if we collectively ignore Christmas as a town does that mean we have more time? Because that would be sweet.

So... While everyone is getting back into the swing of things after that tragic event that I’m dubbing as “Plantnado”, I feel that now is as good of time as ever to announce something. As you may know, myself and the wonderful CeCe Harper both work at Tattoo Envy ( aka one of the best places to work ), but as soon as things get finished, we’re going to be working at the new and totally badass Body Canvas.

That’s right, I finally got my shit together and bought a space. As soon as we’re done renovating, the tattoo shop Body Canvas will be up and running right on the outskirts of Little Rock. How’s that for a dream come true, eh?

It turns out, if I’m out all night and come home the next morning in the same clothes as yesterday, my roommates will blow noisemakers and make fun of me until I get from the front door into my room, where I promptly shut and locked the door. They mortified me, while terrifying my cat at the same time.

I’ve been trying to nail this god damn cookie recipe for the past two weeks, and lemme tell you-- I’ve been struggling. From burning the first batch, to them tasting like nothing but flour, to not be cooked enough. Put me in a kitchen to cook dinner and I’m solid, but this dessert bullshit? Nope.

I know that we’re all tired of hearing about the storm already, but can I just complain for a second by how fucked my trail is? I’ve been running this thing since I was 13 years old and I have NEVER seen it this fucked. I’m almost scared I’m going to break my leg again--I’ve already seen a goddamn duck and I am NOT here for it.
