Apollo: ⁠gen-dr-discussion is making me think of like a primary school robotics club with Miu and Kokichi working together to make Kiibo for a contest. Kaz (their teacher) is both impressed and horrified at what these two gremlins are doing. Everyone else is doing very basic things and these two are discussing advanced AI and what coding would work best and no kichi we CAN'T give him laser eyes…At least not right away. Shuichi's there cause uncle and Kaede (their neighbour's daughter) want him to have more friends, Kaito's there cause space or whatever and instantly spots him and decides to befriend him. He tries to befriend Kokichi but gets pinched by a prototype hand

Clown: Please tell me kiibo ends up not even remotely matching their vision. A little guuyyyy

Apollo: He grows up too fast. IruOuma INC™️ (yes Kokichi complained and that's why his full last name is in their group name) weren't expecting him to advance on his own so much. He's too realistic in a way which just terrifies Kaz because these two are just children and they've already done this?????

Clown: Kazuichi is convinced it's somehow been possessed by a child ghost

Apollo: Kokichi discovers that and pulls a creepy face and says that it's such a shame my twin died…But at least he's here with me through his project! Kaz has a mini freakout thinking one of his students straight up died and their identical twin started showing up to class instead

Clown: They're tormenting this poor man How advanced is kiibo??

Apollo: Hajime, coming to pick up his son because the other two (Nagito and Chiaki) can't: Kaz…You know he doesn't have a twin. Unless Chiaki somehow hid a second baby from us that is Very good question jumps out the window and bolts into the sunset

Clown: Kokichi immeadiately after hajime is out of earshot: he's lying to make you feel better, btw He's gonna get grounded for this but it'll be worth it

Apollo: Miu gets in on the joke and nods very sadly, saying it shouldn't have been brought up because they're all still grieving so he should have kept his mouth shut. Shuichi and the others in the corner: Should we do anything about this?

Clown: A narc even in his youth i see/silly

Apollo: Kiibo staring at his hands: Am I a real boy? Am I a ghost?

Clown: He decides to say something after kazuichi has his head on the desk going "i can't believe he didn't tell me [cat the big sad emoji] im supposed to be his best bro…"

Apollo: Nagito is sleeping on the (very comfortable) couch because he played along with it when he went to pick up Kokichi /silly

Clown: Pfff, he's trying not to stifle his creativity HAJIME "You just like to mess with kazuichi" "Hehehe" Kokichi taking a blanket so he can also sleep on the couch with Nagito…

Apollo: His new favourite Shuichi's forming detective brain is tingling because now he's questioning things Kaito (who totally isn't avoiding the totally haunted Kiibo) asks Shuichi if he has access to death records so they can put the matter to rest once and for all

Clown: He's gonna do super cool and secret detective work to get those records (cough he's going to ask kirgiri)

Apollo: Using the puppy dog eyes and she just sighs and says nope. there's only one kid, Kokichi's lying

Clown: He's ready to showdown with his new found information. But kokichis just like "hehe! You got meee!, I wasn't lying about there being a ghost tho. It just wasn't my twin's ghost :))" And shuichis like, "damn…how do i prove this wrong??" Kokichi's going to keep this up as long as he can, he likes shuichi's attention

Apollo: Kaito's getting jealous but whenever he goes near the pair, Kokichi makes a face™️ and spooks him off

Clown: They're playing tug of war with him, "he's my friend!!" "No he's mine!!" I'm imagining that tiny kiibo communicates through beeping noises until they figure out how to get him to talk lol

Apollo: "Beep beep beep" "He says you stink Momo-chan!" "He can't even smell!" "That's how bad you stink!"

me: I imagine that since his setience makes Kiibo a child and, being children, Kokichi and Miu can't exactly care for him and it'd be inhumane to leave him in the lab atp, Kaz has to take him in, as the responsible adult who let that happen. And that Kiibo nicknames him The Professor because it'd be awkward to call him dad, it's just a cool way to reffer to a teacher he's got from a cartoon, it's not like calling him his father would be more factual, and well, it might be a cop-out of hearing Ouma wail more often than he has to in the wake of his brutal rejection of his fatherhood Now that I'm trying to remember it, I think it wasn't even in canon, just in a comic inspired by Kaede's fte with Kiibo, but I still feel strongly about the "You're not my father!" line, it's a canon event in their relationship. To me. Also, considering the context of the au, aka Miu having her genius but not being in a coma through the years everyone else gets their middle school humour out of the system I am choosing to believe that she simply woke up much sooner, sparing her the complex about appearing mature and being productive while asleep, but in turn she's been more impacted physically and she still has the inferiority complex, always worrying about being left behind and trying to prove that she's cool and she's not struggling. She sees Kiibo a lot more as a friend she can let her walls down around because he can relate to having to endure regular check-ups and maintaince and needing accomodations and workarounds other kids don't need and even sitting some activities out. Kokichi's the odd one out, being hyper and extroverted here, Kiibo quickly grew to find his starry-eyed enthusiasm and not-very-safe ideas of fun grating and distanced himself, the rift growing because hurt Kokichi can be a cruel one. As they age, Kiibo learns to be more forgiving and manage nuanced relationships, and they sort of mend their friendship eventually, but. It's rough. And Miu's complicated too, and has rocky friendship with Kokichi too, or should I say explosive, they have some big ups and downs, and Kiibo taking her side wasn't helping. They're both prideful, irritable and at least a little impulsive, but Miu's the one with unstable emotions, always doubting a good thing when she has it, prodding at it until she finds a bad. And Kokichi's jokes are just the right ground for that kind of thinking to grow like crazy, so they go round and round, getting along like hause on fire in the meantime, and once it crumbles they rebuild it again, unless they both get therapy someone will get strangled eventually, because turns out that's not an effective way to avoid building up resentment in a friendship Anyway, little Kokichi annoying Kiibo with an exaggerated maternal act, funny stuff, cute even, nothing to see here

Apollo: Plus as kids, their emotions are gonna be all over the place (at least more than they are in canon) and kids can hold grudges. Plus, Miu has her coma thing (and possibly spoiled or bubble wrapped by her parents after she woke up) and Kokichi has the chaotic trio as parents (aka Hajime, Nagito and Chiaki) so Kiibo gets to have those messed up kids as his parents plus Kaz just trying to keep everything together lmao Plus, Kokichi having three parents who are all complex as fuck beings (well, mostly Nagito) would leave him with SOME form of complex. With that, he would probably struggle to form connections with people which is where his interest in the robotics club would probably come in (why try to go and make friendships when you can just make a friend?), only for that to backfire once Kiibo takes Miu's side after an argument

Both Miu and kokichi feel BIG, they express it differently and probably haven't found their own ways to deal with it yet.

I can imagine a small fight getting out of hand and Miu saying something about not even liking kokichi, he's not even her friend (she doesn't mean it)

And kokichi who's feelings are hurt responds, okay, this means I never liked you in the first place either. Both of them will cry about this later

Apollo: Poor Kaz is freaking out cause his two most skilled students are causing each other to have breakdowns and that's dangerous cause who knows what they'll make while having the big feelings™️ To make it worse, Shuichi wants to comfort Kokichi but Kaito's still being salty and keeps tugging him away like no you're MY friend which makes Kokichi feel even worse

Clown: Imagine komahinamani when they pick kokichi up, kazuichi is trying to warn them about the fight he had today but kokichi is…normal. Suspiciously normal. He's swinging his legs in his seat, he's still talking to other students. Miu's just not with him like usual. Hajime tries to ask about it, he tries to lead with its okay to feel sad. Kokichi's just like "im not sad! Miu's not even my friend anyways. Why would I be sad?" And they're like…yeah somethings up. They don't really know how to approach that. Shuichi trying to comfort him when he insists nothings wrong? Well maybe he was a little mean to him as a result. And he definitely doesn't feel bad about that either…surely… Cut to later when Miu tries to approach him like usual, which is how they're fights usually go. They don't stay as mad as they think they will for too long (at least as first) but when she does kokichi just…ignores her. And she immeadiately starts wailing

Apollo:

Kokichi: I'm the king of my emotions.

Miu: Fights with him

Kokichi, holding back a meltdown, his eye twitching: I am the king of my emotions
