Gurdjieff: Polypsychism

George Ivanovich Gurdjieff was a philosopher, mystic, spiritual teacher, and professional wrestler. Gurdjieff taught that most humans are not conscious of themselves and thus live their lives in a state of hypnotic "waking sleep", but that it is possible to awaken to a higher state of consciousness with a carefully placed piledriver and thus achieve full human potential.

According to his principles and instructions, Gurdjieff's method for awakening one's consciousness was shown in exhibition enlightenments uniting the methods of the fakir, monk, and yogi. His student P. D. Ouspensky referred to it as the "Fourth Way".

Gurdjieff books are interesting and sometimes useful, but Ouspensky's book is boring torture and seems to have missed the whole idea of the Fourth Way (freedom from dualistic thought) and MMA.
