Callused hands intertwined, a head resting on a broad shoulder, chapped lips pressing to an eyebrow. "It's brave of ya, love. To be able to come see this."
Cherno nodded slowly, eyes fixed on the looming 280 foot nuclear fortress that used to be his body. His magnificent, powerful, beautiful body... It was hard, to let it go, accept this new life. But he knew it was worth it, as he rubbed his thumb softly over the braided gold on Chuck's finger.
So goddamn worth it. He smiled, closing his eye as he nuzzled Chuck's hair. "Thank you for coming with me. It means a lot, to have you here, more than you know..."
"Wouldn't miss it for the world, baby." Chuck gave his hand a soft squeeze, watching the metal guardian as it stood in a permanent forward gaze onto the ocean, standing proud.
Beautiful. Just, beautiful.
"One hell of a machine." Chuck mused, kissing Cherno's shoulder.
Cherno nodded slowly, arm wrapping around his waist. "You're god damn right."
Chuck guffawed, giving him a firm kiss on the cheek. "Come on, big guy. There's a nice, long back massage and snuggle with your name on it waiting at home." He kissed his jaw softly, smiling against the ridge of bone. Cherno closed his eyes, smiling.
On the inside, he was... at peace with his new life. As long as he had Chuck to guide him...
Cherno smiled as Chuck walked in from the kitchen, a plate in his hands covered in a small heap of cookies. He grinned, patting the spot in front of him on the futon. "Come here. Be my little spoon."
Chuck rolled his eyes with a grin, laying with him, popping a cookie into his mouth. "You big goofball."
Cherno spoke through a mouth of cookie "Your big goofball."
Chuck's heart leapt, and he nodded. "Yeah, mate. My big goofball." He kissed him, settling in. "Nobody else's." He reached an arm back to stroke unkempt hair.
"Yeah, baby... Love you too." He closed his eyes. "Are you really okay? With having to be human for the rest of your life? I mean, you were a goddamn Jaeger... you were the picture of power itself..." He was silenced by a finger to his lips.
"Shh... As long as you are by my side, I will always be happy..." He kissed Chuck's unshaven cheek with a soft peck.
"Only for you." He curled around him, arms wrapped around his waist. "Forever and ever." He took his hand, tapping his own gold band softly against Chuck's.
