Welcome Sargeant Y/N! Or rather Sarge!

Sarge is the non-binary first person player who has to figure out what's happening to augs (CyberHumans) on Station Centuri. An infection of some sort has taken place that only affects augs. The space station has been mostly evacuated (with exception to a few rogue infected augs) with fears the virus could mutate into the non-cyber human population. Also infected augs are kinda savage 🤷‍♂️.

Sarge is placed on the station as part of an all-non-cyber team to investigate what happened. Others have boarded at different places on the station to cover more ground while General Taddsfield, your boss, communicates to everyone over headset.

Now this would be fine if not for two major issues:

General Taddsfield is cyberphobic asshat

You, Sarge, are augmented

Not that anyone actually knows this. Sarge were born with a rare genetic disorder that meant they had no vision at all in both eyes. Sarge's parents decided to have a purely experimental surgery on both eyes to help them see but due to the nature of the surgery, Sarge was never registered as an Aug. And only they, their parents (both passed) and the unknown surgeon who did the experimental surgery are aware of this.

Which obviously causes problems for you as a player, who has to navigate in a place contaminated with a virus specifically targeted augs.

About the Game

When is a human, not human?

This game concept has been in development since early 2019 and is an FPS PC game (with the option of a gamepad). It's centered on the concept of transhumanism, that is, the idea/concept of humans evolving beyond natural boundaries due to science, technology and medicine and challenges the players' belief on what being human actually means.

OutCyber takes place on a space station sometime in the future where a zombie-like disaster has occurred and it's your job as the player, to work out why all the augmented humans went insane.

OutCyber follows the progress of the main character as they explore the space station, avoid the infected augs (CyberHumans) and try to find what the virus is and how to stop it. But this game also challenges the character as they have to navigate all these issues with their overhead instructor (General Taddsfield) being constantly derogatory to augs and the social and work consequences of agreeing or disagreeing with his views.
