Well, here's The Outimals! I like their gross designs, I wish that Chapter 5 had been a bit darker though; Not like the series HASN'T been getting darker progressively, I just feel like it wasn't leaning enough into it with these little guys in the mix. So I gave them little glass shards and needles for fingers, that way they look a little more intimidating!
The Wrongside Outimals were a commercial failure for Playtime Co, plain and simple. Early tests with parents and children had it likened to the ongoing phenomena towards "90's Serial Killers", and many of the parents were concerned about the concept of a toy you turn inside out in the first place. The Satanic Panic was a huge hamper on the concept, and while not bad and likely much more welcomed in a modern era, Playtime Co had jumped the gun.
Regardless they had decided to see how Wrongside Outimals would sell, and immediately there was backlash about it being "Too Disturbing for kids!" and "It looks like Dahmer coughed this thing up!"
Naturally, they were pulled from the shelves and retired immediately, Leith Pierre ashamed of their failure; And more important to him, their failure to make him money.
..Their concept would not go unused after Playtime Co fell under though.
A rather interested Experiment had taken a liken to the concept, stealing it for itself in the midst of The Hour of Joy. When blood had finished spilling and the corpses of Playtime Co were displayed proudly, The Prototype revealed it's true intentions:
Why stop at just the Employees? After all, surely it had been the outside that had wronged them to. The reason the poor Orphans had no parents, the Adults who had done nothing to investigate.
Everyone was guilty, so it was only natural to want to punish them too, right?
Factions were made, Loyalties were split. The Prototype demanded War, not Peace. And from it's thirst for violence, it created Outimals: "The Soldiers of Joy" as known to many within The Factory. Relentless and bloodthirsty, you were good as dead if you were swarmed by them; And with their artillery of broken glass and dirty lab needles, you'd likely die from blood loss or infection even if you got away.
Toys that had their skin and bodies inverted, losing all forms of sanity as they were forced to conform to the demand to Kill, Kill K I L L.
Outimals were created with disobedient Toys in The Army of Joy, and any Rebel Toys not eaten after capture.
..And sometimes, whenever The Prototype could find suitable flesh big enough...
..Made very s p e c i a l Outimals.
My gameplay of Poppy Playtime Chapter 5 is available now!!
Been floating around the idea of a FNAF/DCA and PPT crossover where you and the boys survived and escape the horrors of the pizzaplex while managing to get robots rights. And you now travel the world tracking down and helping those that need it.
Which is when you stumble across the old rumor mill of PlayCo, an even older competitor of FazCo. The stories strike a little too close to home, concerning missing children and shady dealings, so you go to the original factory, where an orphanage was once run out of it.
Delving inside, you come to quickly realize that the situation is very similar yet vastly different from what happened with Afton. Science experiments on children, trying to gain immortality and control through much more professional means compared to Afton. Uncovering just what all these sometimes hostile toys running around are leaves you all feeling very unwell.
Of course you want to help them. Get them out of the factory. You try to tell them that things are different outside, that the world is changing, but one big thing stands in your way of convincing them to leave: Prototype.
Even talking to him proves a challenge, Oliver being more likely to attack first, ask questions later. With the hold he has on a good majority of the toys stuck beneath Playcare, you are faced with one near death after the other in your attempts to help.
Eventually, you do manage to rally a large group behind you, and bring him down, negating the poppy gel. You try to tell him, again, that it doesn't have to be this way. They can have a life above the surface, away from this horrid place. Seeing how many toys are intending to follow you, he goes a bit ballistic, getting a second wind and nearly killing you. Eclipse intervenes, unintentionally ripping his suddenly much more frail body apart.
This causes them to panic, making them flash back to when they had to do the same to their friends during similar events, and you rush to find a place to stitch Prototype up. You end up back in the operating room from earlier, and manage to prevent him from bleeding out. Obviously, this leaves you with a bit of a dilemma what to do with the unconscious Prototype.
It's decided that Eclipse will carry him out, carefully, and you'll bring him home. In the meantime, you call in Vanessa and the others to assist in locating all the remaining toys, wherever they may be hiding in the underground city, and finding places for them to go. It becomes a massive operation spearheaded by a non-profit that an older Cassie and Roxanne run.
It goes without saying that any research concerning PlayCo's goals are all destroyed, aside from what is absolutely necessary for the toys' care and biology. A lot of toys end up in intensive therapy, of course, some like a lot of the more feral Critters and Yarnaby being monitored 24/7 while they try to see if they can undo the damage done. Begrudgingly, for the latter's sake in particular, they work with Sawyer, but Vanessa personally sees to it that he doesn't pull anything. She's all too familiar with his type, after all.
With everything getting settled, you and Sun, Moon, and Eclipse focus your own efforts on rehabilitating the Prototype. He is not happy when he wakes up and finds himself confined again, not to mention his fingers being nerfed by bubble wrap, of all things, and missing his lower half. You promise that you're working on getting new legs for him, though he stubbornly refuses any and all help at first.
Out of all of you, you see a lot of yourself in Prototype, and you are the one who works most persistently to help him. To a point where a very annoyed Prototype begrudgingly asks for anyone else's presence if it means you will leave (though he will definitely come to appreciate your efforts and be more likely to come to you for stuff first much later down the line).
Eventually, there is a happy ending, where even the most animalistic toys start to heal, though they will likely need special care for the rest of their lives. Prototype finally starts getting to his own issues, and is eventually reunited with Catnap and Poppy. Both meetings are very awkward and tense in their own rights. Theo still adores Prototype, but he's hesitant to approach him because he's come to realize what they had wasn't good for him. Poppy...well, she doesn't want to even be in the same room as him. Not for a long, long time. Her face is fixed from the events beneath Playcare, but the mental and physical scars remain.
Still, there is a day where they end up talking like they used to over the phone, and shakily build from there. Once you're sure that Prototype isn't going to hurt anyone anymore, you offer him his own place to live. A home for him to build his own life, from the ground up, without worrying about anyone locking him up or needing to be responsible for all the toys.
The idea is completely flabbergasting to Prototype, having given up on such thoughts years ago. A part of him is eager to try, yet tentative. He doubts himself. What if he goes back to his old ways? What will he do, all alone? Plus...he's really become fond of you all, and you've become fond of him. He can tell that you're all sad about the thought of him leaving, but the fact you're willing to let him simply go his own way, that you trust him to be okay and do good...
He compromises. He finds a house nearby, acquires a job with Vanessa's help, and decides to rename himself. He doesn't want to be Oliver Ludwig (even though he'll always consider Poppy family, it's still complicated though...), and he definitely doesn't want to be the Prototype. I haven't figured out his name yet, but I think it'd be nice if he chose something from a book he held dear in childhood or something. Someone truly good he once aspired to be like. And you, Sun, Moon, and Eclipse welcome his new, permanent self with open arms. Tooth-aching fluff follows.
