Truth is, I’ve never been very good at saying goodbye, but that’s the hell of it, isn’t it? Whether you want to say goodbye or not, they’re gone and...you have to go on living without them. Because that’s what they would want.

I CANNOT STOP STARING AT THIS:
FAVORITE REUNIONS SINCE THE PRINT SHOP.
Just hold me.
Could any words have been more profound in this moment?
Just hold me.
Do not try to fix it.
Do not try to fix me.
Just hold me.
Just hold me.
Hold me as I have no strength left.
Hold me as I want to fade away.
Hold me as I want to give in.
Hold me as I grieve.
Hold me as I fall apart.
Hold me as I break.
Just hold me.
It would be challenging to find words that more beautifully and simply encapsulate Jamie and Claire Fraser than these:
Just hold me.
When life is just as it should be, just hold me.
When joy abounds, just hold me.
When I want you, just hold me.
When all is well, just hold me.
When things fall apart, just hold me.
When people I love die, just hold me.
When I am betrayed, just hold me.
When things are out of my control, just hold me.
When what happens is beyond what I can bear, just hold me.
When the suffering is too great, just hold me.
When the pain threatens to suffocate, just hold me.
When I do not have words, just hold me.
When I feel like I might die, just hold me.
When there is nothing you can do, just hold me.
Just hold me.
Shelter me.
Comfort me.
Honor me.
Love me.
And somehow...someway...everything will be ok.
“Doesna make it any easier leaving ye.”
THIS.
Jamie speaking about his beloved daughter was one of the most beautiful scenes I have ever seen.
It took my breath away and then gave it back to me.
There was a sparkle, a breath, a light—an essence—in Jamie’s eyes that I have never seen before. It was an expression completely singular to this second in time:
Awe.
Reverence.
Hope.
Longing.
It was as if he stretched his hand through time and touched his child for the first time.
Completely enraptured, he can do nothing but hold onto Claire.
Bree: your Da adores you.
