Soft uwu babies, rough around the edges angry boys, and the sad, damaged characters. We need to break free of this scale and learn that there’s a whole spectrum of personalities to explore and that we don’t just need to mush a character into one. They have their own spot on their own scale. |

🍵 Fandom treatment of Butters?

— 【ʢ´• ᴥ •`ʡ】 | I actually just did this one, pff! |— 【ʢ´• ᴥ •`ʡ】 | Yeah, I’m not a big fan of the uwu butters baby thing. I’ve even had some roleplayers get mad at me for letting Butters get angry or flirt back because its not the reaction they expect. There’s obvious evidence in the show that he’s a little brat and I love it that way. It wouldn’t be any fun writing him if the only things I wrote were him being upset/hurt or super happy. I want to write him getting mad and defending himself. I wanna write him being a sarcastic jerk while remaining clueless at times, not always. I will stick with this opinion until I die. |

🍵 Other SP characters you dislike the fanon version of?

Let’s start with CREEK! I love the ship, so much, as many people do!!! What I don’t like is how femme and pathetic people portray Tweek!! And that, often times, they portray Craig as an apathetic jerk. When this isn’t the case! Both of them love each other so much and, often times Craig is portrayed as over protective when in reality Tweek is over protective. He shows it alot in TFBW game!! Calling Craig ‘my Craig’ and becoming angry when someone hurts Craig. These two do rely on each other in some ways but not the way people think. Tweek isn’t in the same category as Butters, the uwu must be protected at all costs placement. Tweek can defend himself AND the people around him. He’s also not afraid to hurt someone. He literally tried to leave Cartman behind when they boys were in danger. And Craig? He has feelings. He spent a whole episode trying to calm Tweek down and succeeded. Craig isn’t apathetic. He’s monotone. There’s a difference in that.

Next up! one of my favorite characters!! STAN!I love this boy so much, ya’ll don’t understand. The fanon portrayal.... not so much... They put him in the odd category of the sad drunk.. I know we had that whole arc where he drank and it’s not proven that he still does.. But there’s been episodes after where he’s fine. He’s not always sad and is an all around kid most of the time. He’s got that spunky leader attitude that I love. In fanon I also dislike that he’s ALWAYS seen as using Kyle as an emotional crutch, when in reality, Kyle would straight up tell him to get help. Kyle isn’t a push over! He will tell Stan off if he needs to even if that his ‘super best friend’!

The parents. Yes. The parents. Let me start with.. Yes.. These parents are.. straight up awful, ya’ll. But in the fandom people tend to only portray them as abusive. They love their kids, all of them, even parents like the Stotches or the McCormicks. They all love their kids and are not just these abusive characters people seem to portray them as. Like.. The Stotches tried to sell Butters, yes, but they wanted him to have a better life. Linda triedto kill Butters, yeah, but only because she thought it was best for him. People ignore the reasons and just label them as abusive in the fandom so when I read fanfics all I see are abusive parents and, tbh, I want to see more than that. I do hate most of the parents in south park, fannon wise, but I want to see the families portrayed as happier at times too.

I have so many more opinions but I’ll save them for a later time, pfff! |
