My short, unspoilery decision is that for now his main verse will remain canon. Longer, very spoilery explanation is under the cut:

SO...Jack is dead. Except not really? The ending was kind of left up for interpretation, but I can’t see Death visiting Jack for any other reason but to bring him back to life, so until the next ep in October or whenever proves me wrong, that’s what I’m going with for this blog. Jack was brought back and saved Sam, Dean, and Cas from the zombies c:
