In Forest of the Dead, when the Doctor is trying to reason with River to let him take her spot and stop her death, saying that time can be rewritten, she says “not those times” because it doesn’t just mean her time with him would be rewritten. It would kill him with no regeneration meaning no Eleventh Doctor meaning Amelia Pond never gets a strange man in a police box in her back garden and would live in the house with the strange crack being none the wiser. And Melody Pond wouldn’t have been conceived in the time vortex; no Mels wrecking havoc in Leadworth and no River defacing the tallest cliff face in the universe.
I’m having a lot of feelings about this and it came out of nowhere.
