The attempts Riot are making to seem like they care about Demacia lore lately are so funny to me.
Yes, let's make a funeral video for Xin Zhao, a Champion who never got to do anything and who was killed off for no reason. Let's celebrate the hilariously overdue rework for Shyvana while seemingly ignoring the fact that she would probably have been kicked out of the country after she torched an entire city. Yes she was under the Ruined King's control but do you honestly think most Demacians care?
Anyways, sorry to come back to life here again only to spew more negativity. I'll try to reply to threads I owe here by the weekend. Just wanted to post my thoughts and get something out there on this blog again.))
Erza Scarlet is an S-class wizard who can summon suits of armor and and fight any foe by swordpoint. She can challenge any foe and win.
Bullshit and complete fake! Erza would be slayed by Grimmjow without even knowing he was there. Fairy Tail characters do not have reistsu so they can not see the dead however there is an exception if a mage is close to death they can see them, but at that point they would be killed in the blink of an eye so would it really matter? Get your facts straight. Do not compare the World of Bleach to Fairy Tail. Grimmjow is on a higher level being an arrancar, an espada sixth in the ranks back then compared to a regular human with magic. Also Erza and non slayer type mages would not be able to replenish their etherno containers without being in Ishgar so in her case once her magic is depleted she is a sitting duck and would be killed instantly. Holders types like Lucy would be worse off having to rely on an outside source of where the magic is contained and summoned through. Take away their items no magic = dead mage.Only slayer types like dragon slayers, demon and god slayers would stand a better chance because they can consume their element(s) to replenish their magic more quickly, don't have to rely on etherno in the air to only fill up their magic containers as long as they still have etherno inside of them and thus would have a better chance of survival, but in the end their chances would be slim.
Summarizing Bios for my Rewritten Champions (Part 1)
There's a lot, so I'm putting it all under a cut.))
Aatrox
An ancient and enigmatic entity who has helped to turn the tides of countless battles across Runeterra's history. He and the other Darkin are actually creations of the Aspects of Targon, embodying all the "impure" traits they deemed were unbecoming of divinity. Aatrox himself was split off from Pantheon, and represents the horror and cruelty of war.
Twitch
A lab rat who escaped containment and now claims rulership of Zaun's sewers. Twitch was subjected to an experimental chemical meant to increase strength and intelligence, but his transformation far surpassed his captors' expectations. His proportions and brain both steadily became more and more humanoid until he managed to break out and flee into the underground waterways. Now, Twitch bides his time, hoping to one day overthrow the surface world and the humans he sees as the architects of his torment.
Shaco
A demonic jester who brings suffering through merriment. Shaco preys upon those overcome with sorrow and despair, offering respite from their misery. His games often start out innocent, but quickly devolve into horrendous acts of murder and destruction. Those who fall under his spell are unable to realize the full weight of their deeds until Shaco abandons them to deal with the aftermath, laughing maniacally as they themselves become the butt of his twisted jokes.
Varus
An Ionian warrior who made a pact with Paalas, a Darkin who was split off from the Aspect of Justice. Varus once protected the temple where Paalas's bow was sealed, but when Noxians invaded his home, Varus was forced to make a choice between his duty and his family. Upon finding the corpses of his husband and son, Varus swore revenge, taking up the accursed weapon he was meant to safeguard. He knows it's only a matter of time before the Darkin consumes his mind and body completely, but before that happens, Varus will hunt down everyone he deems responsible for the tragedy that befell his home and family.
Shyvana
A strange hybrid of human and draconic blood. Shyvana belonged to a clan of dragon-worshipers who sought to actually become dragons, and infused themselves with the blood of their so-called 'deities' in an effort to achieve this. Many failed, but the young Shyvana proved to be one of their few successful experiments. The dragon Yvva learned of this and sought to destroy these half-breeds, viewing them all as abominations. Shyvana alone escaped, and lived in hiding within Demacia for many years. When Yvva finally tracked her down, Shyvana confronted the fire dragon with the aid of Prince Jarvan IV, and narrowly emerged victorious. Now, she faithfully serves the kingdom, despite the fear and prejudice many harbor toward her...
Warwick
A former mercenary turned into a monster by inhuman experimentation. Warwick once lent his skills to the highest bidder, not caring who he hurt as long as he got paid. That all changed when he witnessed the devastation of Ionian villages during Noxus's invasion of the island. Warwick attempted to turn on Noxian forces, only to be captured and eventually handed over to the mad scientist Singed, who had become fascinated with the chimeric beings known as Vastaya. Warwick became one of many test subjects in Singed's attempt to recreate these fascinating beings, infused with Vastayan blood and augmented with strange devices. Eventually, though, Warwick managed to escape confined. He now prowls the streets of Zaun, clinging desperately to his humanity while animalistic urges threaten to consume him...
One of the biggest challenges I've faced ever since Riot's initial reboot of Runeterra is answering the simple question: 'where can you find Xerath?' For a while I had him occupying some nondescript ruins vaguely somewhere in the south, since the Descent Into the Tomb trailer never bothered to specify where the Magus went after he was freed.
Eventually, Riot released their interactive map and revealed that Xerath was occupying a city called Nerimazeth, located near Mount Targon. It wasn't much to work with, but it was something. I imagine Xerath having occupied the city alongside people who he'd managed to actually convince that HE was the one true god-emperor of Shurima.
I had him occupying a tower in the middle of the city, since I liked the idea of Xerath literally lording over his subjects, and I didn't expect Riot to ever really tell us much about what the city was like. The Twilight of the Gods story that was set in Nerimazeth gave us some info, but the most prominent feature we get in that story is that Nerimazeth has an amphitheater.
Then Legends of Runeterra came along and finally revealed to us what Nerimazeth is like under Xerath's control:
Absolutely fucked.
Xerath has evidently made no effort to make the city habitable by human standards, instead filling the ruins with big monuments made to siphon energy from the land and turning his followers into his own variant of Baccai.
Now, I actually don't dislike this as a concept, as it finally gives us an answer as to how Xerath is trying to go about breaking his seal in the new lore. The issue is that, as a roleplayer, this presents something of a problem for me... Or more specifically, my partners.
I mean, traveling to the territory of a crazy magical demigod was already kind of tricky for some people to justify their muses doing back when that territory was an actual city. Now if other muses want to have an audience with Xerath, they have to travel through a desolate wasteland leaking arcane power and inhabited by zealous energy monsters.
So yeah, going forward, I'm going to try and find something of a middleground between the two iterations. I don't mind Xerath's territory being warped because of his nonsense, but I don't want it to be a COMPLETELY fucked-up magical wasteland that no human character in their right mind would ever venture to.))
A part of me wants to check out the new cinematic, but a part of me just can't help feeling bitter about the state of the lore caused by Arcane. Like, I know it's not even the show's fault, I just can't help feeling spiteful about Riot's decision to further muck up their own continuity by focusing all their efforts around this one project.))
