Once it was the truth, now it’s a lie. Maybe there are no lies (to begin with). Maybe it’s a question of ‘time’. Now I believe in the truth of this moment, but what is left in the past changes into a lie. (On the other hand, maybe we are living only in lies.) (At the end you decide which door you want to open. )
Out of Shape Runners Guide
Out of Shape Runners guide to the first day. This is to help those of you, like me, that are out of shape and may attempt running like I did earlier this week. There are five stages a runner goes through on the first time out when attempting to run after a period or years of inactivity. Stage 1 - Usually only last the first 5 minutes of the first day's run. You attain a euphoric feeling. Everything about it feels good. You feel like running every day of your life from here on out. You finally did it! You are so glad you started this. You begin to pick out tank tops in your head and start thinking about how you're going to look at the pool. Stage 2 - About minute 6 into the first days run you realize just how out of shape you are. Things begin to go through your head. Am I having a heart attack? Did I develop asthma? Was that a hamstring or did I step on a stick? Does 911 know your location on a cell phone? I wonder what I look like running. Oh there's a window, let me look at my reflection. Dear God that can't be me. Stage 3 - About 10 minutes into your first days run. Panic sets in. You honestly wonder if you will be able to walk back. Everything hurts. Your vision is blurred. You begin to scout around you like an owl, spinning your head in every direction to see if anyone will notice you giving up, stopping and beginning to walk. If nobody saw you, then they would just think you're out for a walk, not the pathetic out of shape person who just ran 6 blocks and quit. You begin to pray. Stage 4 - You finally gave up and started walking. For 11 1/2 minutes you gave it your best, but its just not happening. You begin to make excuses. You most likely have an infection or a cold that is causing this. It's not your fault. It's hot, it's cold, it's dusty, it's windy. The shoes aren't fitting right. Did I take the uphill route? Excuses turn to justification. Walking is good for you. Runners develop bad knees. Stage 5 - Enlightenment. After about 2 minutes of walking you realize you are fine. Nothing is broken. Your breathing is normal. You notice you have not even started sweating yet. You laugh at yourself. You look around to see if anyone saw you laugh at yourself. You finish the run. Calm, collective and with the expected soreness that you knew you would have. You did it. You get home, drink a 2 liter of water and appreciate your accomplishment. Later that day, you weigh yourself expecting miracles and you gained 2lbs. Son of a *&^%$! You collect yourself and think It's probably just water weight, tomorrow will be better. Hopefully this helps those of you attempting to get back in shape.
FINALLY RAN
WOWWWW
I FINALLY went for a run after not running for a legit 7 months lol that is the LONGEST i’ve gone without working out. I just pushed myself and made myself do it. It was misty out and I didn’t wanna push myself first run back too much so I ran only 1.25 miles. Will start very small and work back up slowly. It’s been a while so I can’t jump right in full force yet lol
Did some stretches and one set of abs and one set of arms.
I AM SORE. FROM THAT. THIS IS SO SAD. REMEMBER WHEN I RAN A MARATHON?
I AM SO OUT OF SHAPE
*sigh*
Still need to do better grocery shopping and meal prep. For tonight tho I got this healthy cheese ravioli and green beans
