OUTPUT NO. 1
IDEAL COMMUNITY WESTWOOD HOMES
I. Technological
My ideal community will be full of people who are friendly and kind to each other, a community who will forgive their neighbors for simple matters like loitering and being noisy.
But people especially parents should still be strict and just so that when matters wouldn’t be solve by simply talking then action will be just fine, simply for the reason that discipline wouldn’t be perish.
If a person thinks that he/she is being abused they can complain it in the meeting which is once a month or in the court.
II. Economic
An eye for an eye will be the policy for my ideal community, meaning a cup of sugar can be exchange for a cup of salt. If a person can’t have the items that they what simply because of having no means of cash then he/she can simply exchange an item that have the same value according to the owner of the store.
If a person doesn’t have an item that can be exchange for then the person can simply work for their desired item that will be still according to the owner of the store what kind of work.
If a person wants to build their own business, small or large, it must be talked in the meeting that would happen once a month.
III. Political
My political philosophy is anarchism meaning there are no kagawads or group of people that have a power over the others but there would still be a leader of the community to decides when things gets rough.
Each house must have one representative when a meeting would be conducted so that things would still be easy to be operated.
If a law will be broken then the guilty and the witness will stand against each other but the final say will be decided through voting or by the final words of the leader.
IV. Institutional
Every child is required to be educated through homeschooling or attending to school.
Disciplining a child is normal but over doing it would be a crime and be considered as a child abuse only with evidence.
Sunday is a family day and so family must be together that day with no exception.
V. Aesthetic-Values
Everyone has a right of their own meaning they can speak to whom they want even children.
When being accused of something they can defend their own self.
Bullying of any kind will not be entertained but the victim with an evidence of the crime can decide what punishment will be done to the guilty.
VI. Beliefs-Conceptual
Everyone must respect each others’ religion and tradition as long as their own being isn’t being affected.
If a person’s religion or belief is being force to one another it is considered as a crime.
Superstitious are allowed as long as the people in my ideal community would be educated that they are simply passed down traditions and so a seminar would be conducted.
Output #1: Ideal Community
Barangay Pulvorista
A. Technological
Adapts technology development but never forget the nature of the Barangay before. For example, more commercial establishments built and used for increasing employment rate within; but don’t set aside the mere fact that the Barangay Pulvorista is surrounded of bodies of water. Locals such as vendors, fishermen and establishment owners should maintain cleanliness and care for the environment to provide safe and neat environment.
Also formulate alternative response for waste disposal like Recycling contests or decorate the barangay using recyclable materials.
B. Economic
Announces or informs locals regarding a job fair event so it will open for door for the unemployed. Directs a livelihood program for women at home who want to contribute to the wealth of the community such as sewing doormats, eco-bags etc.
C. Political
Considering fair governance among the officials and people, so it will provide harmony and trust for the whole community. Respects every rule or law, and when these are questioned the Barangay officials know what to respond. Moreover, to be fairer, I hope that the one who wins the election truly loves to serve and protect his/her fellowmen, not for salary or to inherit position only. Integrity and good implementation of law must be practiced by the barangay officials first so the community will follow wholeheartedly.
D. Institutional
Knows what helping hand is. A community that knows the true sense of pride —not used of argument and war but the way of being proud— reflects the growing community. People participation manifests how the community is developed. Why? Because cooperative people build the community then the community itself leads and protects it fellowmen.
The name of the community I belong I was not modified but remained because my ideal for my community is a hope that is meant to be accomplished. A dream to pursue. And change for the betterment.
Barangay Pulvorista will remain Barangay Pulvorista until some or even more of my ideals are carried out thorugh the years. There is still a hope.
IDEAL COMMUNITY: ELYSIUM
What’s paradise for you? Is it some kind of heaven? A wonderful place? A place where only happiness exists?
Can we feel paradise while we’re still on Earth? Yes? No? Maybe?
As for me,my ideal community is not literally a paradise-like place. My ideal community is a place wherein I can live in peace and without fear. A place where I can live in harmony with the people around me. It is an almost-perfect place where the citizens are law-abiding and united. But this place is non-existent and will forever be an ideal not unless the people will have unity in diversity.
Ideal Community: Quintessential Neighborhood
A. Technological
In the technological aspect, my ideal community is one that does not lack security equipment. CCTV cameras should be scattered on different parts of the community. The reason for this is to monitor the crimes that could take place within the surroundings, to easily trace the plunderer.
B. Economic
The economic growth is important in a community that's why it is ideal to build even just small businesses that would be beneficial to the community's economy. It will establish a more constructive community that can alleviate the locals' needs. It could help them achieve the image of an ideal community.
C. Political
An ideal community also does not tolerate corruption. The local government should use their power in a way that would be beneficial to the citizens' lifestyle. They should fill in the supply inadequacy and provide projects that would give the residents their supplementary needs.
D. Institutional
A community should be institutional in a way wherein the citizens interact in a friendly and respectful manner toward each other. Men and women should know their own limitations and boundaries to eradicate sexual harassment which is circulating within any community. That would decrease the problem that we are facing in a long time and is still happening until now.
E. Aesthetic Values
The way to achieve the aesthetic values of a community is to change the paradoxical attitude of the citizens in order to attain a well-balanced and a harmonious relationship between the community and its people. An ideal community has a livable environment for everyone. The people should value their community's surroundings.
F. Beliefs
Every person has a belief of their own that they value. In a community, it is somewhat impossible to have the same beliefs and values that is why the way to deal with our diversity is to be accepting and respectful towards one another's differences. In that way, nobody would be perceived as irrelevant and the citizens' own beliefs would be validated.
Output #1 Counselor-Counselee
Average and achiever
Before, I thought counseling and giving is the same. Their purpose may be the same -- in helping others -- but differs in approach and method.
Since my friend is having trouble with her academic and ‘me’ life, she seek for an advice. However, I prefer counseling her and in that moment, I, as a friend, make sure that my approach will be easy and useful for her.
She decided -- after so many talks -- to be an average student.
Today, I’m hoping that my informal counseling process with her will be fruitful decision someday.
COUNSELOR COUNSELEE; MUSIKA SA AKING PUSO
At first, I actually thought of making stories about counselling (informal), but I also thought of sharing my emotions through this. It came out wonderful. I felt relieved because of the person I shared my problem with, while writing I also felt safe, secured and love. I hesitated myself a lot for I’m not used to share any of my problems to anyone. These are all new to me because I usually write my feelings or express them by writing poems or just listening to music. However, I thought of usual thing. I used my passion to music so I could completely share here what are my feelings while my friend is counselling me. This activity gave me opportunities to not keep everything to myself. Rather, learn how to open up to everyone.
Counselor Interview: A Glimpse to a Counselor’s World
Counseling is not an easy task especially when you are a school guidance counselor. It takes a lot of patience, understanding and empathy to be one of them. Being a counselor means sharing your shoulder to someone where they can cry on, an ear that is willing to listen to them and a mind and mouth that can keep and won’t spill all their secrets, either it’s in the good or bad side.
In an interview of our group mate Charisma Tabora with one of Del Pilar Academy’s Guidance Staff, Ma’am Jennie Guyamin, she shared some of the jobs that a school guidance counselor do. She explained to us some roles and function of a counselor. Through this short interview, we became enlightened about the differences of those roles and functions. Aside from that, we also found out that what they do is not called counseling, instead, it is advising.
To sum it all up, being a qualified counselor needs a lot of effort and things to consider and it is a job that the humanity needs as of the moment to improve our world’s current condition.
