 I.        Perspective:

·         The Social Science Perspective

Based on the definition from the book the example would be the kids, family or all in all the people of the Noveleta community but why? Because  they share the geographical location and experiences like the families are poor ( but not like poor poor but just poor) and experiences injustice that they encounter everyday for example the family of Nanay Rowena who has a child whom was shot but the gun man wasn't  arrested or captured while his husband is a construction worker, almost all of the fatgers are construction workera of RTMC company.

   ·         The Ecological Perspective

The people who voluntered to provide a church will be my example of ecological perspective, simply because the people in the community may not fully change their bahavior, beliefs or values but the volunteers implanted an idea which would thrn depends if the kidsnor parents would change their behavior or not because they can't be force to be change but little by little they can change.

·        

The Sectoral Community

First is the children sector because they are firat our purpose and since they can't can not exist in a community and since they are the new generation.

Second is the animal sector ( the dogs and cats) because they are the protector of the house and entertainment for the kids.

·         The Civil Society Perspective

This will be us, the HUMSS 12 OR La liga hominem 12 who did the outreach program that even by little helped one of the social issues in the community which is hunger.

Structure Of The Community

·         Politics for the politics of the Noveleta Community the problems would be the garbages, gossips and fightings of the people. The curfew wasn't usually obeyed and since there are no proper jail the people aren't afraid of the consequences of their actions, and so no one learned from their mistakes. The community also don't have their own group of authory like president of their own community for their own specific place, which can help in controlling their garbage waste.

A community based on the Noveleta Community is a group of peole who live in one place and face the same problems or social issues but still supports each other.

Even though they can't change make their social issue go away they tried their best to at least help or improve their community.

OUTPUT NO. 2

STRUCTURE OF COMMUNITY WESTWOOD HOMES

 My community is a subdivision type of community and so the houses are close to each other and personal space only exists in your own house.

My first structure is belief-conception, using the picture above which is a mango tree that has its own superstitious tales about itself. My neighbours would sometimes ask me if I have encountered the white lady near the tree which is very frightening and stupid if you stop for a moment to think about it. So just through this conversation of us you can already think what kind of people accompanies me in my subdivision, old or elderly people who are superstitious. Not all of the people that live in my community are like but most of them are another reason why the mango tree right beside my house wouldn’t still be cut down which is very dangerous to our flooring and by extension house.

My second structure is technological because the people in my community have their own talents even the illegal one like when our electricity was cut off because of the late payment in the Meralco there was a guy who did his magic and so made it like there wasn’t any brownout that happened which was frightening but relieving because of him we had our electricity back and it was alright because we already paid but what if they didn’t pay for their electricity? All the man just need to do is tickle some wire then boom the television is back, the electric fan is back and so the electricity is back, and so it was still illegal but useful ability.

Just like our subdivision name which is Westwood, like how mango tree’s branches are connected to each other we have our connection to each ONE OF US. f

OUTPUT NO. 1

IDEAL COMMUNITY WESTWOOD HOMES

              I.        Technological

My ideal community will be full of people who are friendly and kind to each other, a community who will forgive their neighbors for simple matters like loitering and being noisy.

But people especially parents should still be strict and just so that when matters wouldn’t be solve by simply talking then action will be just fine, simply for the reason that discipline wouldn’t be perish.

If a person thinks that he/she is being abused they can complain it in the meeting which is once a month or in the court.

            II.        Economic

An eye for an eye will be the policy for my ideal community, meaning a cup of sugar can be exchange for a cup of salt. If a person can’t have the items that they what simply because of having no means of cash then he/she can simply exchange an item that have the same value according to the owner of the store.

If a person doesn’t have an item that can be exchange for then the person can simply work for their desired item that will be still according to the owner of the store what kind of work.

If a person wants to build their own business, small or large, it must be talked in the meeting that would happen once a month.

           III.        Political

My political philosophy is anarchism meaning there are no kagawads or group of people that have a power over the others but there would still be a leader of the community to decides when things gets rough.

Each house must have one representative when a meeting would be conducted so that things would still be easy to be operated.

If a law will be broken then the guilty and the witness will stand against each other but the final say will be decided through voting or by the final words of the leader.

           IV.        Institutional

Every child is required to be educated through homeschooling or attending to school.

Disciplining a child is normal but over doing it would be a crime and be considered as a child abuse only with evidence.

Sunday is a family day and so family must be together that day with no exception.

            V.        Aesthetic-Values

Everyone has a right of their own meaning they can speak to whom they want even children.

When being accused of something they can defend their own self.

Bullying of any kind will not be entertained but the victim with an evidence of the crime can decide what punishment will be done to the guilty.

           VI.        Beliefs-Conceptual

Everyone must respect each others’ religion and tradition as long as their own being isn’t being affected.

If a person’s religion or belief is being force to one another it is considered as a crime.

Superstitious are allowed as long as the people in my ideal community would be educated that they are simply passed down traditions and so a seminar would be conducted.

“Minor Social Work” Sharing What I Have

 BACKGROUND CASE

They are the persons we met at that day. A day full of happiness and delight in our hearts. The first one on the picture I a lady, she’s 38 years old. Working outside a fast food chain to help her family and to support herself with the medicines she need. The three boys below the lady was such a helper. They help a man to pick up some drinks in a soft drinks tamp. The two of them was 11 years old, while the other one is only 10 years old. The little girl standing is a 7 years old. She’s living in her aunt. Yes she is studying but it’s not easy for her to study and to go to school consecutively. At that moment, she doesn’t have any. Just the clothes she’s wearing since she don’t have slippers.

EXPERIENCES

After doing the said social work, our hearts are filled with happiness and joy. We realized that we’re still lucky to have what others doesn’t have. We’re luck and blessed to have the things we want while others are still aiming for it. And we’re also happy to help them on our special little way. And we’re also blessed to know their story, why they are doing those. And we’re glad talking to them, knowing what really matters in their heart. Because we think, people need someone to talk to. Even you’re rich or no. What more for those people whose struggling almost all of their life. And it’s also a therapy for them because somehow, we realize that yes, giving food can help them. But, talking to them and letting them feel that you’re there for them is the best thing aside from those snacks you’ll give.

Sometimes we’re complaining on what we have while others doesn’t have any. So we also ask to ourselves that how they can even survive that kind of lifestyle. And it’s also a relief that we helped people and it’s like a big achievement for us. And while we’re giving them the love we have thru giving, people are staring. Somehow, there’s a disappointment that instead of staring, why not help and lend their hands even on the simplest way.

At first, we admit that we’re doing it for the sake of our grades. But as time goes by, we’re loving what we are doing –spreading love to others thru the art of giving. We don’t think about the grades, but think about people surviving those kind of hardships and obstacles in life.

So obviously, we did our minor social work on the road of Nueno in Imus so there is no any license or even just a social worker there.

Appreciation Letter Letter To The Greatest Social Worker In My Life

 I only have my mother and brother whom raised me making me fatherless but never filled with sadness, so writing a letter to my mother makes me a little bit happy and a bit sad because when remembering the times that I had given her something handwritten was when I was still junior highschool student in Imus Unida Christian School and can only be counted with my fingers compare to my friends who I had given handwritten or diy's every week without any failure, making it seems like my friends are more important compare to my mother which is definitely not true for my mother is more important than them. My mother and I were fighting before I gave her the handwritten letter so it surprised me when after coming back home carrying take out foods with her I realized how a simple letter can affect our relationship and maybe the reason why we sometimes fought is because of lack of communication.

She sometimes go to a vacation so when I gave her the letter it was when she came back from her flight and after our shouting contest, at first I was a bit skeptical that she would even read the letter but I think that in the end her motherly side won and she read my ugly written letter to her.

When she proudly showed my letter to her friends like it's was a medal or something it shook me how happy but was with the badly written letter and envelope and like the video by Kara David maybe like the senior citizens my mother started to get more lonely with me going out frequently and her working everyday for our needs.

And so I conclude that I must show my appreciation to my mother who works daily for money that I spend even in nonsense things.

Code of Ethics Golden rules of being a social workers

1.       A social worker's religion,  culture and believe must be respected by the clients and colleague.

2.       A client's religion, culture and believe must be respected by the social workers.

3.       A client's wrong doing must be reported to the authorized persons.

4.       A social worker must be caring to colleagues.

5.       A social worker must show caring to co-workers.

6.       A social worker must show loving to everybody.

7.       A social worker is required to share knowledge and wisdom to colleagues.

8.       Everyone can donate basic needs to homeless people.

9.       People must be sincere to their companion, friends, and family.

Being a Social Worker Helping The Unknowns

First thing first it was awkward but in the end relieving why?  Being a social worker means helping other people but since a single or even a group of people can't change the whole world's perspective about other humans a social worker can only change the problematic person's perspective instead but only if the social worker is sincere in helping other people,  caring to other people, but if a social worker just treat their job as a chore that needed to be done immediately then it isn't good enough. When I tried to be a social worker through the use of social media with the intention of helping other people intentionally but also anonymously it was awkward.

Awkward because I was a stranger to them that suddenly commented to their account, and they were also stranger to me that I suddenly talked with and there were times that I was misunderstood a final action that forced me to make another facebook account with the sole purpose of doing that activity, being a social worker through the use of media.

When I first used my official facebook account I was scared and started to think of many what if's like what if they posted what I said to them (which were honestly cheesy words that even thinking about it makes me blush because I talked to them like I was their friends for seven years even though we were really just strangers) or what if I was the one who misunderstood what they posted about (and because I am very lucky it had happened, I comforted someone that wasn't really the purpose why he posted that post and yet my effort was still appreciated so it was still a win-win situation) or what if my purpose was misunderstood (which once again actually happened my reply to a man's post was interpreted as a "flirting" to him and one of the reason I made a new accounts so that people who misunderstood my intention can't have a access of communication to me.

But in the end the feeling of helping strangers even through facebook made me happy, just knowing that they know how even in their darkest time of their life there are still someone, even though that someone is a stranger,  that cares for them and how all they need to do is for them to ask for comfort or just say what they feel like.

My first memorable conversation was with Natasha R-Hernandez which I actually continues to talk with because her problem was about love life which I totally don't know about because I don't have an experience in love life but for Natasha to share her experience with love life added my knowledge and even experiences about having a significant other.  Her problem was about her boyfriend that suddenly became cold to her that lead to a break up between the two of them, I am happy that she continues to progress in forgetting and forgiving her ex-boyfriend with my help.

Second will be with a girl having a problem with her parents that aren't satisfied with her grades, it was memorable to me because I also experience the same thing so not only did I comforted her but I also shared what I did when my parents did the same thing. I was sad that a person younger than me, a junior highschool student, experienced the pain of feeling like being never enough to the eyes of their parents because aren't they supposed to be the one who guide us?  love us? Grades aren't all about life, yes it is important but life doesn't rotate around grades, for me life revolve around being happy. So just knowing that I, even by little, changed her perspective about grades,life and parents made me happy.

For me if we shared out problems to other people it can lessen, making us worry about our problem will only worsen it and makes the problem even bigger than before.

So if we feel like being in stress, depress or etc.  Talk to your family, friends or even strangers the problem might not go away but by sharing or talking about it changes your perspective about the struggles you are currently facing.

DAY NO.8 (Saturday Overnight) GOODBYES ARE SHORT WHILE MEMORIES LASTS

I arrived in the Kalayaan, Toclong at 5 PM for my last day and overnight but I also have my mother with me, she was feeling lonely she said and so decided to accompany me in my journey.

She didn’t stay long and as the sun fall down my mother also decided to go home alone as I still have to do my overnight.

Once again I lay down with Jen as my partner and once again near the door of the kitchen.

I had fun watching my group mates tease and play each other.

As for our gifts for our community family we had decided to give them hygiene kit like shampoo and soap, detergent bar and powder and canned goods that were around 500 thankfully we have enough money to pay but unfortunately we don’t have enough change so we were left with no choice but to just eat pandesal in the morning instead of rice.

For a really seriously farewell we had gone and get a selfie with lola, ate and the children of our chosen community for remembrance or something like that.

DAY 8 (Saturday) DIRTY X TIRED X GREEN SCREEN

Some of my group members gone home that it was only Amanda, Yumi and I that stayed behind to continue the afternoon shift with the arrival of Urayan and Charisma. After eating lunch at Jen’s house we greeted the new arrival and watched them put the green screen as our body was very not cooperating with us and wouldn’t move thankfully they understand and just let us watch and talk with the family. The job of putting some green screen wasn’t done as they were not enough materials to finish so we just sat and talk and talk occasionally talking with the cute kids in the community. We gone out early because they were some two women screaming and pulling each other’s hair because of some financial problems and we were afraid of being subjected of their wrath, luckily we weren’t harm or something.

DAY 7 (Saturday) CLEANSING THE ANGER

For the morning shift after eating breakfast, we had gone to the community to greet them and to start our project plan only to realize that we only have surgical gloves and masks versus the garbages in  the community, realizing that it wasn’t enough we gone back to Jen’s crib to buy brooms and dustpans with Dens and Reyes buying them while the rest of us waited for them to arrive which was for about two hours to happened. We parted the two groups to clean each area with my group, group two, finishing quickly compare to the other group with the reasons like the people in the community were really not comfortable with us and instead we respected that and the trashes in the land and canals weren’t really many. So to make it faster we also helped the other group by also cleaning the other unclean area it was exhausting not because of the tasked itself but because they were people being angry at us, our own group mates angry at us and even the sun being angry at us that I ended up feeling angry  at them but thankfully we finished the tasked around 12 PM and for us to eat snacks and bathe in an alcohol }

DAY 6 (Friday night) OVERNIGHT X SNACKS X COCKROACH

 I wasn’t able to eat at with the others as I had to go home and ask for a permission to sleep in other’s people house to my mother so she wouldn’t be so mad at me, since it was already night I just called my brother to get me in the court of the community. After eating and taking a bath I waited for my mother to get back from work and ask which happened with little reprimanding on her part and a lot of scolding too. Before going back to Jen’s crib I bought food and junk foods for us to snacks on because i have and feeling that it would be long night, and it was indeed a long night as my group mates quickly fought over my snacks that even I, the who spent and bought the snacks, didn’t get eat at all which was funny how they fought over a snacks and annoyed I didn’t get to eat any at all. I slept around in the morning because a cockroach fly over my legs and left arm that I was paranoid to sleep and instead waited for my body to flush out the adrenaline to fall asleep. I woke up to Yumi’ slamming her body unto mine around 5 AM while the boys except Del Mundo woke up around 6 in the morning. We had a breakfast with me eating my brought Korean noodles with Jen’s bread and coffee was pretty delicious.

DAY 5 (FRIDAY) FLYERS X FREE SNACKS X VISITORS

For this day I have the afternoon shift, 1 P.M. to 5 P.M., we first did the flyers to the community in a group but after that we didn’t do anything interesting at all except talking with the community about our project plan which received some positive feedback. I was just outside the Ate Roselle’s house looking or talking with the kids with my group members. After out shift Saflor give Abad, Villanueva and I some snacks and shake it was very delicious especially because it was brought by someone else after eating out before dinner snacks we came back to the community armed with our lunch packs and water to eat with the family. It was around 6 P.M. and we were still not eating when Ma’am Eullo visited us in the house which also gained Nathaniel another love interest, It was a short visit that lasted for half an hour. After the subject teacher left the kids gotten a little bit playful and would horseback playing with me and Amanda which ended up tiring me very quickly and so cut the activity to rest for a minutes and so the pancit that we bought for them was being played by the kids instead. We ended up not eating in there as we ate in Jen’s house.

Day no. 4 (Saturday) Three is a Crowd

For the January 27, 2018 I was in the morning shift with Abad and Urayan just the three of us attending the immersion that day with the clouds dark and rumbling and so was not surprised that after a few minutes it was already raining. We did some clothes folding which took a few minutes that it was supposed to be because we also have to entertain the kids while doing the chore but after two hours we finished and just played with the kids and watch television with them. Was surprised that the kids wasn’t upset with me for tricking them but just humored them because I was still feeling guilty which resulted to feeling tired and hungry so around 11 am we had gone to Languisan after saying good byes with the kids and family.

Day no. 3 (Friday) Running Away the Leads to Tears

On January 26, 2018, Friday, I started my afternoon shift late in 13 minutes and gone to the house with my members already in there sitting while watching television. We had gone around in the community for their permission for our action plan which is cleaning their canal possibly next week or for first week of February and received a positive feedback. That the most exciting thing I had done for the day except talking and playing with kids and by the time we have to go home it seems the kids got attached to me and wanted to spend more time with me and fearing that they might really go with me I tricked them to go back home while I and some of the group members run away, felt guilty after Reyes scolded us for running away from the kids causing them to cry and gone home walking with the others from kalayaan to toclong.

Day no. 2 (Saturday)

Worms and Carbonara

 Second Day of work immersion and once again in morning shift luckily I am now in the correct group, which is group 2 since the shift of yesterday was done different than I was supposed to be in because of my college exam inquiry.

Now I am with Yumi and the others but I have noticed that the boys which are Theo and Joshua are outside the house while the girls are inside being cool with the electric fan. Getting bored inside the house while playing with the kids I got out to sit with Joshua and Theo when after a few minutes of just being awkward I saw the youngest girl of Ate Roselle’s children empting her stomach but something white instead was going out her butt.

It was a white worm that had gone out of the girl’s butt, since Joshua is a gentleman he look away while Theo and I just sat and watch the show.

I know that people can have a worm inside their stomach but it is my first time seeing it go out of the body of a human without surgery (via facebook) and so I was culture shock by it that I can’t look away and even though time passed buy I can’t forget how to white worms wiggle and dance.

While attempting to make the image go away that is when I noticed how dirty the place is and how the kids would play with the canal’s items that they can get. Jus like the image above, It is a girl that just got her new toy from the canal just near our family community are.

 Day no. 1 (Friday) Meeting the Family and Being a Babysitter

We have go to the house of ate Roselle and Miranda at 7 A. M. only to see ate roselle arranging her slipper then going inside the house, my team leader, Tabora, was the only one to go in ate roselle's room for interviewing while the rest of us settled in Ms. Miranda's house with her grandchildren.

While Tabora was interviewing the mother we talked with the lola of the family to learned that they first lived in Boracay, Cavite on 2013 but was forced to go away by the govenrment and instead live in Kalayaan, Toclong but it is not easy as before as they don't have any source of water that is free because their water pump is broken so frequently that thay just gave up on it and instead suffer to pay and carry the water for their baths, drinking and etc. Her oldest grandchildren are Nataly then Nathaniel whom is called Tantan then the youngest Rody if I remember correctly. Her oldest is the only one who go to school and learned that when Ms.Miranda accompany her grandchild to school the other siblings would also go with her for safety or that if Nataly doesn't have a uniform she wouldn't go to school.

I continue to listen to her story while some group mates would explore the house with the permition of the owners.

After the one on one talk, we decided to also get informations from the community and decided to let the other five members interview while Tabora and I stayed with the family like a buddy system. While they were gone we played with kids and were introduced to Krystal, a friend of nataly whom was also friendly like the kids and until so while the adults were out doing their stuffs.

After an hour or two the member had finished their tasked and just rested  or played with the kids. For lunch the lolo had gone back to eat with his family and so didn't disturbed them and instead just ate in Jen's house

Outreach Program Experience Bonding with Children with Special Needs

A public school for elementary students and children with special needs, and the place our group chose to conduct our major immersion is in Imus Pilot Elementary School in Nuenu Avenue, City of Imus, Cavite.

Our project was supposedly to start at 7 am but instead happened at 9 am so we then first arranged the place and our props, giveaways and many more while waiting for the kids and so after a few minutes one child became two then three and so. We started our program with God's blessings and prayed with the children and right there is a children already being mischievous which coincidently near me and so after some convincing together we prayed. Since I am one of the videographer of my group right after prayer I already began recording the event which was first introduction of the staffs, which is our group, with a little bit ad-lib that entertained the sped children then the story telling of the rabbit and the turtle with some special adds-on like acting of my groupmates and adding some children to the story. Then the coloring, water coloring and drawing part which the picture above was taken while the children does their activities, the activity was fun not just for them but for us as well for we also learned some information about them and some of them even showed their playful side when noticing the camera yet they are some sped children that doesn't like to camera to see their faces which their reasoning was funny and entertaining for me.

Since I am the videographer of my group I wasn't able to interview any of the sped children but was able to take the expressions and smiles of the children so it still makes me happy. But based of my obervations and some glimpse of the children telling their story to my group mates meeting them makes me realize how strong they are compare to us, students of Del Pilar Academy or even all the students, who complain to stuff like having assignments or quizzes when some of the children had their family member taken from them and yet they still continue to smile and laugh, and so we shouldn't taken for granted God's blessings that He give day to day.

 Of course there will always be some children that would be playful and energetic so some of my group mates played with some children who wouldn't participate to our project but since their parents trusted us their child we should still take the responsibility to make them happy. While dealing with them I should suggest having an unlimited amount of patience and will to be just for the kids for example I saw some caretakers shouted at one of the kids I think that it wasn't ethical for the man to shout at the sped child but the boy was being naughty and being gentle won't do any good so sometimes being strict would be needed.
