Best Bars For Drinking Outside - Tokyo
What better way to cool off in the summer with some outside beers in #tokyo? #craftbeer #beer #beeroclock
Japan is known for having exceptionally hot summers. What better way to relax then to have drink outside in the sun? One problem though – Japan isn’t known for its greenery in cities. However, there are some places where you can sit outside and have some beers with friends. And you know what? BeerTengoku has got you covered. These places below offer up some of Tokyo’s best craft beer bars to…

Craft Beer Market Jimbocho Terrace The Bottom Line
If you’ve been to one Craft Beer Market bar, then you’ve pretty much been to all of them. Craft Beer Market Jimbocho Terrace doesn’t stray too far from the tried and tested formula of cheap craft beer, served at varying degrees of wellness, with tax included. However, Craft Beer Market Jimbocho Terrace has been the least busiest of all we’ve been to so far. If you don’t mind a gamble, then it’s a sure fire place to try some new domestic craft beers. The whole place is non-smoking though there is an unavoidable table charge of ¥300 and a maximum stay of two-and-a-half hours (why do some bars insist on this?!)
An off-the-shoulder look.
Craft Beer Market Jimbocho Terrace The Full Review
Craft Beer Market Jimbocho Terrace is the sixth in the Craft Beer Market chain with nine bars at the time of writing. Without wanting to rehash much of the other reviews, it doesn’t differ too much from the other branches so this is going to be a much shorter review as I feel we’ve covered enough about them in other reviews.
There is space for about 40 people inside with a private room at the back. The best thing about Craft Beer Market Jimbocho Terrace is, and obvious it may seem, the terrace seating outside, that has space for twenty or so people, when the weather is nice. There is also the dreaded table charge that is unavoidable – ¥300 – for which you do get a tiny bowl of “something”. For some annoying reason, I guess to get people in and out, you’re limited to a 2.5 hour stay – regardless of how much beer you’re drinking or want to drink. The whole bar is non-smoking though, which includes the outside as well.
Usual prices but slightly different beers.
Is this an English amber IPA?
Craft Beer Market Jimbocho offers 30 taps of beer, with 3 of those being dedicated to domestic macro beers, and the other 27 being dedicated to both domestic and imported craft beer. Beers come in two sizes: glasses at 250ml for ¥480 and pints at 473ml for ¥780. Both prices include tax though the pourings do vary greatly – the bane of the Craft Beer Market chain. I prefer to ask for “awa nashi” or “no head” and tend to get served a minimal, but still noticeable, amount of beer. I didn’t notice any beer tasting sets on offer either. There wasn’t a happy hour either.
Lamb gyoza
Wedges – not quite fries but still good.
The food is wide and varied at Craft Beer Market Jimbocho though the chips are wedges and not fries. The food is supposedly based around Italian dishes; however, the lamb coriander gyoza were deliciously pungent and paired well with the Coedo Shikkoku and the Baird Red Comet Collaboration IPA.
