Voodoo Festival

In my completely un-sponsored opinion, there is no music festival in the United States on par with Voodoo Festival. 🌈🌟🎪🧡

I bought my 3-Day General Admission tickets for $120-$160 apiece both years I went-- a far cry from the average of $375 that the other big league festivals are asking for. Hell, even if you wait ‘til last minute, Voodoo is cheaper than most of the local festivals I’ve come across. 

And you get big headliners-- Arcade Fire, Kendrick Lamar, The Killers-- plus a well-curated line-up of EDM fan-faves, classic rockers, and pop stars on the rise. Personally, I like the mix. Slow, sweet folk guitar feels amazing after an afternoon of melting your face off in an EDM pit (and vice-versa). (Honestly, nothing can top the New Orleans willow trees, sunset, and Band of Horses experience I had back in 2016.)

Additionally, the food is top-notch. I had 🐊ALLIGATOR NUGGETS🐊 for eight bucks, which is more or less what I paid for half a plate of soggy french fries when I was in Montreal for Ilesoniq. I could go on and on.

Obviously, Voodoo is one of the big and corporate shindigs, so if you’re looking for a grassroots, intimate, camping experience I would point you in a different direction. Still, I thought I’d toss my recommendation into the ring, because lord knows, there are so many festivals and it’s hard to know where you get the most for your money.
