having now seen wild mountain thyme (over a year after it came out and months after I bought the DVD for it as a joke)... okay, even as someone who really liked the play it was adapting and thought that the reveal was funny as shit, holy bejeezus is the movie bad. I'm not sure if it's because they ruined the reveal emotionally, or because jamie dornan just doesn't have the right "utter weirdo who's loved inexplicably anyway" vibes because he's jamie fucking dornan, or because I kept looking at emily blunt's costumes and being like "okay that's something I'd wear which is a problem" or what. but god.

like I wasn't expecting much but I was disappointed EVEN BY THE THINGS I WAS EXCITED TO SEE.
