My Yuu overblot scenario is that (only caught up with eng) Grim gets aftereffects from eating the black magic stones and it kinds builds up inside him, which makes him evolve into the bigger and more feral version of himself. Then he like... pukes all this overblot ink goop over Yuu and being covered in it and absorbing it makes Yuu overblot. So even though Yuu can't overblot from being magic-less, they overblot from being 'infected' with the physical residue that contains magic.

That can even link with the last one where they said that Yuu's overblot would be strong as there isnt a crystal to absorb it.
