I fabricated up and welded together a bomber pull up bar for a friend and neighbor’s garage gym. One could hoist an engine up on the thing. I am not a welder. My neighbor, who IS a welder (ship and underwater cert) stopped in this afternoon as I was putting together my mobile tubing bender stand. We talked, he nodded, then looked at my welds for far too long. He said “those are OK for an apprentice”. It was a backhanded compliment, but I will take it! He also said my bender stand was “way too complicated” and I will take that as a compliment too!!
