🏋️ Power Rack Attachments: Which Ones Are Actually Worth It?
One of the best things about owning a power rack is how much you can add to it.
That's also one of the easiest ways to overspend.
Before buying another attachment, ask a simple question:
Will this make my normal training safer, easier, or more versatile?
For most home gyms, I'd prioritize practical upgrades such as:
🛡️ Safety straps or arms — safety comes first 💪 Pull-up bar — tremendous versatility without additional floor space 💿 Plate storage — keeps your training area organized 🔥 Landmine attachment — excellent exercise variety from a compact upgrade 🏋️ Dip handles — worthwhile if dips are part of your program ⚙️ Cable system — potentially excellent, but not essential for everyone
Then there are specialty attachments that may look impressive but aren't necessarily worth the money unless they solve a specific training need.
My new guide ranks the best power rack attachments and explains which upgrades I'd buy first—and which I'd approach more selectively.

The rule I like: Don't buy attachments to complete your rack. Build your rack around your training.

🏋️ Will a Power Rack Actually Fit in Your Home Gym?
Buying a power rack is exciting—but finding out it doesn't comfortably fit your space after it arrives definitely isn't.
Before you buy, consider more than the rack's listed width and depth. You also need room for:
📏 Rack dimensions ⬆️ Ceiling clearance 🏋️ Your barbell and weight plates 🪑 Bench positioning 🚶 Safe movement around the rack 🔧 Future attachments
One simple trick: use painter's tape to mark the rack's footprint on your floor before ordering. Then position your bench, walk around the space, and make sure you'll have enough clearance to train comfortably.
My new FitWithGreg guide walks you through the entire process, including common measuring mistakes and a pre-purchase checklist.

🏋️ 12 Power Rack Exercises for a Complete Home Gym Workout
A power rack isn't just a squat station.
With a barbell, plates, bench and the appropriate setup, you can build much of a full-body strength program around one rack.
My newest FitWithGreg guide covers:
💪 Back & front squats 💪 Bench press 💪 Overhead press 💪 Romanian deadlifts 💪 Rack pulls 💪 Barbell & inverted rows 💪 Pull-ups/chin-ups 💪 Lunges 💪 Calf raises 💪 Barbell shrugs
I've also included a sample full-body workout so you can see how several of these movements can fit together without trying to perform all 12 in one session.
