The Phantom Menace is probably my favorite Star Wars movie. There's the usual things of Padawan!Obi-Wan that I like. That basically blink and you miss it, Quinlan Vos cameo. But, the biggest thing is Queen Padme Amidala. If I would have seen that movie when I was like 7 years old I would have been in love. She was everything I wanted to be back then because she was intelligent and kind, a Queen, and also a total badass. Since I can retroactively adore her, I settle for loving her even more now.

I saw TPM in the theater when I was in my early teens -- so, basically I was the same age as Padme. LET ME TELL YOU: a Star Wars movie where A GIRL LIKE ME gets to be a queen of a crazy Star Wars planet?? And she has the fanciest clothes ever???? And she is a key part of saving the day???????? AND SHE GETS TO HANG OUT WITH THE JEDI???????????? AND ONE OF THEM IS MID-20s OBI-WAN????????????????????????????????????? AND SHE HAS A GIANT SQUAD OF BADASS FRIENDS WHO HELP HER KICK ASS???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I so vividly remember being furious when I read some thing online around that time that was like “this new Star Wars: who is it even FOR?” and I was like “uh...”

This could be its own series, a bit of a political romantic drama of sorts. Alrighty, moving onto the plot ideas:

In this particular AU, Dathomirians are going to have a bit more of an advanced society and Jysella was never taken from her people and clan, thus she grows up to become Dathomir’s Senator.

Reaper was assigned to the Coruscant Guard instead of the 345th.

Reaper will be assigned to be Senator Aru’s bodyguard due to assassination attempts.

Jysella isn’t keen on the idea of a bodyguard which is something she would gladly inform Bail Organa and Galen Vau about.

Reaper isn’t keen on being a glorified babysitter.

Jysella decides to attempt to break the ice by asking Reaper about his childhood and what his family is like.

Reaper ends up befriending Jysella and they start developing a crush on each other, which develops into something more.

Reaper starts warming up to his squad.

Fox is well aware of the relationship that Reaper has with Senator Aru but chooses to not intervene, compared to certain other Senators and their SOs, it’s far less likely to end in heartbreak and rather adorable.

Jysella actually finds out she’s pregnant from Jedi Masters Depa Billaba and Mina Eridan.

Fox and Thorne are bickering over who gets to be godfather.

Reaper and Jysella aren’t sure how it happened, nor are they necessarily scared. Reaper gushing over the baby once the shock is gone is too adorable.

When Jysella makes the news to Reaper, he legitimately starts crying. Because he knows the repercussions but he also knows what’s waiting for him after the war, he actually has a life after everything.

Jysella is having far too much messing with her fellow politicians in rumors about who her mate is.

Grimm is also alive in this AU and is Aryn’s actual non-official godfather.

Galen Vau has also claimed Aryn as his adopted grandniece.

Jysella and Reaper also tend to flirt with each other at the worst moments.

☆ - happy headcanon - NJ is a generally positive person. He tends to look on the bright side, but isn’t naive about it. But it does mean he smiles and laughs often, and it is absolutely infectious (and when he ducks his head when he does, hair falling in front of his face, has definitely caused a more than a few people to swoon)

♡ - romantic headcanon - NJ isn’t overly romantic, but a simple gesture here and there is greatly appreciated and loved. Someone just showing him that they thought of him, means so much to him.

♥ - family headcanon - family is so important to him. He doesn’t have much, but he considers Caliber his sister (even more than just vode), and would do literally anything for her.
