Levi: How dare you

That was obvious. Their lives had changed so much in the last little while… it was all happening so quick. He doesn’t say anything or seem like he heard her at first. Even if his expression remains blank, his eyes voice the anguish that still stabs through his chest. He doesn’t dare look at her, keeping his gaze low as his eyes narrow just a bit.
“I suppose they have, haven’t they?”
Perhaps his voice takes on a softer tone for a moment before he turns away, taking the cloth and beginning to wipe down his desk. So many he’s seen wither so quickly. Eld, Petra, Oluo, Gunther… gone. Lives lost because he wasn’t quick enough.
“Very odd turns…”
She leaned on her broom as her eyes stayed glued to the scenery out the window, aged glass painting the view like something out of a lost renaissance. Her words meant so many things: a boy that could turn into a titan, her sudden enlistment following her crime, more titans amongst them... her presence in his office. The medic expected to be assigned outside grunt work.
“ Captain, um... “ She bit her lip and turned her chin over her shoulder. Perhaps she shouldn’t say anything, especially since the atmosphere of the Corps. lended little time for rest, let alone mourning. Yet she owed her fellow soldiers transparency no matter how new she was to camaraderie. “ The Commander asked me something strange earlier today, and I was wondering if he asked other people... “ ... or if he was singling me out (with good reason). “ He asked me who I thought the enemy was while looking over... the other soldiers... Do you know what he meant? “

❛ I never said I was a good person, but one can receive good advice from a bad person.❜ - Frieda
@overlevendc
“And what makes you so sure that the advice you’re giving is good advice?”
Levi’s eyes don’t leave her even though she’s not exactly a threat to him. But she may be a threat to others. He doesn’t exactly know quite yet, but he’ll just assume she is. He cants his head just a bit to the side, eyes sharpening .
“Can you explain that to me if you’re claiming it’s good advice? What’s so good about it?”
Frieda gave the man a beatific smile, setting her book on the table.
“I have quite a bit more life experience than my age might suggest,” she replied as she perched on the rickety wood chair, “Captain.”
With a nonchalant brush of her skirts, Frieda set her thoughts in order. “In any case, I’m sure my advice on how to deal with my family is better than the advice anyone other than Historia might give you.”

He can still smell the rotting flesh and it only brings him to gag again. Usually, he didn’t care, but today must be different. Maybe he’s getting sick. It’s hard for him to tell and his stomach flips again.
Levi empties what little was in his stomach onto the ground, feeling Bel pull his hair back a bit more. He gags before coughing and heaves a few times before closing his eyes and trying to take a deep breath.
After a moment of silence, he mutters a soft “thank you”, trying to stop his trembling.
She throws her cape over a low branch to save him some dignity before tending to him. Bel almost couldn’t believe her eyes, but of course the esteemed captain was still human. “ Take your time, “ she muttered softly, rubbing a gentle yet firm hand upon his back to soothe his trembling, “ Breathe. “
Bel then fishes out a peppermint scented cloth and offers it to him to ease the nausea as he gathered his graces. He must be mortified, she thought. Recalling the little bit of humor she’s overheard from him, she shovels some dirt over his mess with her toe and opts for a joke. “ ... Saves you from having to shit later, huh? “
“Everything is fine.”

“ Alright, if you say so. “ She wanted to just take his word for it, but something about him told her he wasn’t being honest. Something told her he was going to make her job difficult. Did he hate her? Did she do something wrong? Was he looking down upon her? She struggled with trying to reason the latter, as it would make him a giant hypocrite and he held much more refinement than that… right?
She left him, but felt extremely guilty about it for some reason. He said he was fine. If she pestered him, he’d just get angry with her again. Was that anger? The medic couldn’t take it anymore, but she couldn’t exactly throw him in the dungeon and shine a light on him. She didn’t choose to become a medic to be liked. If she didn’t treat him with the same consideration as any other soldier (especially one that set off her sixth sense like a gun), she couldn’t call herself one.
Bel then found herself in her room, sifting through the dried jasmine buds she kept under her bed. She could’ve sworn she had enough time to make at least one bag. Soon as she found it, Bel hurried to make a pot and returned to where he was. Relieved yet saddened that he was still there, she knelt behind him.
“ … I saw your cup was still empty, “ she said quietly as she poured, “ It’s jasmine. I hope it’s not too strong. “
Flicks Eren's forehead. "Grounded. Go to your room."
“OW- but! I didn’t! DO anything!” stomps to his room. “Oh my GOD DAD you’re RUINING my LIFE!” slams door. blares i knew you were trouble when you walked in.
