As summer approaches, as someone who lives in an area that gets more touristy every year I keep getting pissed off

Travel groups, bloggers, influencers jne will always say stuff like "talk to LOCALS. this is a place LOCALS reccomend. Listen to the LOCALS for cool hidden gems" and as soon as we local people say things like hey, maybe dont use airbnb because they take all the affordable housing in the area and make the city centre unlivable for us? All of a sudden its "shut up! You should be GRATEFUL for my MONEY" we're a fun feature of the landscape until it comes to being respected as people and not glorified theme park employees

If you ever ever travel to Greece, one plea: DON'T stay to an Airbnb. They are destroying the country. Trust me. If you want the good of the country and its people, go to a hotel, maybe ideally a small business boutique hotel but any hotel is more ethical than an Airbnb at this point.

Questa è una vera perla per capire come funziona la manipolazione dell’informazione.

Il titolo parla di +750% di casi, ma non dice che questo incremento è riferito ad alcune strutture di lunga degenza (in altre strutture gli incrementi sono decisamente più contenuti), e soprattutto non cita numeri reali, nemmeno nell’articolo, per cui non sappiamo se si parla di 4 casi o di 400.000.

Ma l’apoteosi la raggiunge dando la colpa, tra gli altri, all’overtourism. Ora, la scabbia è una malattia diffusissima nell’Africa subsahariana e in oriente, ad esempio Bangladesh e India. Secondo voi, a logica, da dove è più probabile che arrivi?

A naso chi ha scritto l’articolo ha ragionato così: dai, oggi lanciamo l’allarme scabbia, buttiamo lì la percentuale più alta di incremento dei casi che troviamo in giro, però evitiamo di aizzare la polemica sui clandestini e diamo la colpa all’overtourism, che tanto va di moda.
