i’m sitting here crying because i’m just so proud of chappell roan, and most importantly i’m proud of the space that chappell was able to create. it’s an authentic, safe queer space and it’s growing so rapidly. and yeah, ik its 2024 and i should be used to there being larger queer spaces by now, but they’re really not that commonly seen, especially with how big chappell has grown, and as a queer person trapped in the homophobic rural midwest, to have an artist that understands me so much getting the recognition she deserves…yeah, i’m just really proud. i mean, 80,000 people saw her at lollapalooza yesterday. i’m sobbing
after the last few episodes - 14x11 14x12 14x13 - I'm in a retrospective mood. like, fill me with all of the brother pain and loss. bloodied and beaten brothers who get back up, even when they're dead, to fight another day. brothers who hurt one another, but always forgive, forging a deeper bond. brothers who choose each other over all others, sometimes above the world itself. ah but when they smile, when they make one another laugh, that's good stuff right there. we've got so many moments to relive, reevaluate, recapture. we're a pretty lucky group of people, to get to have so much of Sam and Dean Winchester.
Just Like Magic
I glanced down the alleyway, my attention catching on the girl who stood at the end. From where I was standing her hair was sparkling, the light glancing off streaks of pink and making her look bright and fairy-like. My hand subconsciously touched the ends of my hair, even after six years she still had the ability to make me completely speechless.
“You’re here” At some point during my staring she had ran up the alley until she was standing as close to me as possible. She was already more relaxed and her relief was radiating off her in waves “I thought you might’ve left”
I didn’t, of course I didn’t. There was no way I’d ever be over her enough to leave. This girl had crashed into my life like a hurricane, and now I knew I would fall apart without her. I must’ve stood in silence for too long because she started to back away. No!
“Sorry I just thought–” Her words tangled together as she backed even farther away, giving me the space she thought I wanted. My brain was unhelpfully telling me not to let her leave! To keep her as close as possible until the sun set and this terrible day was behind us “I must’ve read this wrong” She gestured between us, hastily backing away, her short hair bounced when she spun around.
“Wait!” I reached forward and barely grasped her sleeve. It was enough, she turned around and I jumped at the chance to pull her as close as possible and kiss her. I kissed her the way I wanted to when we were eight and playing princesses, she offered to be my knight in shining armor to save me. I kissed her the way I wanted to when we were twelve and tears covered my cheeks, but she pulled me into a hug and talked, making everything better, and mostly I kissed her the way I wanted to last week when she started laughing during silent reading time because the book was so funny and she was so invested in the story. To my surprise she kissed me back, even going as far as too loop her fingers through my belt loops to pull me closer.
When she pulled away, I followed, worried that this was the end and she finally remembered that this wasn’t how we worked. But instead her smile was blinding, and she was looking in my eyes, like I was the only thing that mattered. “This is amazing” Her voice was breathless, and she stood so close I could feel her breath on my face. “Why did it take us so long to get here? Why did we have to fight”
She was referring to the argument we just had, because of course she was. I just got so tired of pretending, the feelings that bottled up all had to be released someday. I shouldn’t have punished her for my emotional incompetence, but she responded in full, with stinging words just like mine. “This could’ve been avoided if I’d just told you”
She laughed a little “I had no idea” She shook her head and her nose bumped against mine “If I’d known…”
Her sentence trailed off but I got the point. So many missed chances, sleepovers and movie nights I could’ve spent cuddled next to her on the couch feeling like I did right now, sitting closely, maybe even kissing during the credits, instead of pulling myself away regretfully.
Her smile widened and before I could even blink she was spinning and dipping me, using the skills she had picked up through the countless dance classes she was always taking. Then in a cliche I’d only seen in movies she kissed me, successfully making me feel like I’d melt right there into the sidewalk.

So school's back in session I'm taking 2 evening courses this semester. It is now the super busy time at work for me, which includes evening hours and less time to check Tumblr during the day. Also my husband has quit his job and going back to school (thank you GI Bill) and has his evenings and weekends off. That hasn't happened in 12 years. So yeah, there is a lot going on in my life right now. And Tumblr mobile is constantly refreshing itself if I don't constantly have it pulled up, no waiting in the background like it used to. Damn. All this to say I don't know how much I'll be on right now, so if you want me to see anything tag me (especially for Turkish Spindles, tag me ALL the Turkish Spindles, I'm on a kick).
Ya’know, there are a lot of anime I love to death, and I may say that some of these are my favorite, but my real favorite anime is Eden of the East. I don’t know why. I love No. 6, YoI, Erased, BNHA, and lot’s of others, but Eden of the East has always had a special place in my heart since 2009.
It wasn’t by far the first anime I’d ever seen, and I have seen probably hundreds since (might be an over-exaggeration, but not by much). Eden of the East, however, was a beautiful story and a great concept. Don’t get me wrong, it has it’s flaws too, like some people think the art isn’t really good (I’m not one of those people, I love the art style personally), and some things didn’t get explained even in the movie, leaving some plot holes and loose ends, and there is something really Code Geass-esc about it (don’t get me wrong, I love Code Geass as well), but even with these flaws, it is the best anime I have ever seen, and it will always be my favorite anime probably.
TL;DR: I am just gushing over this anime. I love Eden of the East, and it’s portrayal of modern day terrorism, and you should watch it.
