When I was in high school, "slide/slid" was slang for punching someone, as in "Imma slide him in the jaw" or "he got slid".
But sliders, the mini sandwiches/burgers, also became popular around this time.
And this conjured up a weird mental picture. Like how is one of these little sandwiches gonna punch me in the face?
Sooo…. I just learned that Dick is apparently also an old slang for a detective, private detective (like hiring a private dick) and that seems like way too funny to me in regards to Richard Grayson - aka Dick - who is also a detective.
(It’s probably done intentionally when Dick got named that was still a normal expression)
Anyway: I want Jason to know this and one evening just go into the batcave while calling everyone Dick. When asked he‘ll just tell them since they’re all detectives they should know why and not go into more detail
Groovy, baby!
Just chill, man, it's, like, cool, you know? Highly neat, orderly.
Word for today: necessary vault
The bathroom. Several other terms are listed but I like “vault”
GUYS me and my brother are trying to think of more old slang we can use instead of swearing, but we can only think of ‘bogus’
I love how old speak sounds these days
“oh how queer!”
“I’m feeling quite gay today.”
