Challenges below the cut!
1. I’d Be The Man (March 2nd)
Women are complex and cool, they constantly have good ideas and make power moves! They can do anything men can, but they often get treated differently for doing the same things they do. If they were out flashing their dollars, they’d get called a bitch, not a baller. So for this challenge, take a look at the way that gender and gender roles shape your female character. How does she get treated compared to men in her universe? What would she be like if she were a man? Even fanfiction isn’t safe from sexism, so let’s take a moment to let our girls be the fearless leaders and alpha types.
2. That’s My Girl (March 3rd)
Your oc got some dirt on their shoulder? What about a friend to brush it off for them? That’s right, put your five high! This day is all about girls supporting, and the wonder that is female friendships. Write about or edit a female oc and their female friendship(s)!
3. I Had The Best Day With You (March 4th)
Maybe we don’t know why all the trees change in the fall, but we know that there’s nothing quite like the relationship between mother and daughter. For better or for worse, a mother’s role (or lack thereof) in her daughter’s life is as formative as it comes. So whether it’s a woman who gave birth to her, a woman who raised her, or something else entirely, take this chance to acknowledge the woman, or women, who made your oc who she is today.
4. Getting Me Through The Night (March 5th)
Turn on the flashlight, can you see that? It’s someone else’s oc! Coming through the multiverse! When you’re stuck in the dark, sometimes all you need is a friend to help you get through it all. For this challenge, celebrate the friendships that make your oc’s life that much sweeter, and create something for a girls only crossover!
5. Mom, I Am A Rich Man (March 6th)
The year: 1996. Cher: iconic. Mom, I am: a rich man. For today’s challenge, create an edit for your oc based around a quote or lyric from any woman you’d like, or even some iconic quotes of their own.
6. All I Am Begins With You (March 7th)
Did you ever know that you're my hero, and everything I would like to be? We all have people that we look up to, people who shape us into the people that we’re meant to be. So for today’s challenge, celebrate the female role models in your oc’s life — whether it be a fictional character, a historical figure, or someone they actually know, take a moment to think about the women who inspired your oc to become whoever they are today.
7. One Woman Army (March 8th)
Some people see the revolution, most only see the girl, but their opinions don’t matter. Strength comes in all shapes and sizes, and it doesn’t have to be physical to matter. For today’s challenge, take a look at the oc of your choice and what makes her strong. Is it physical, magical, mental, all of the above? Whatever it is, it’s time to celebrate and honor the strength within your oc.

international women’s week challenge / day three: i had the best day with you. yeoreum kim and her mother, minhye kim (nee shin).
There’s a pause, then, “Do you want to talk about it?”
She considers it. She can’t decide. “I don’t know.”
“That’s okay,” Yeoreum says. “I didn’t really want to talk about it either when my mum died.”
Perhaps this should come as a shock to Ella, seeing as Yeoreum has never mentioned it before now, but it doesn’t. Yeoreum speaks of her family a lot. Her father, her brother, her sister. She’s never mentioned her mother before now. Ella could only guess the reason, gathering she isn’t in the picture anymore, but knowing it isn’t any of her business to question it.
“And, I mean, I get it. Kind of. Mum was killed by Death Eaters, too.”
