Companions were well trained before they left the academy - well trained in a myriad of subjects and disciplines. One of those disciplines was self-defense. Companions weren’t always going to find themselves in the nicest of areas or the best of situations, so the academy liked to be sure that they were able to take care of themselves should the need arise. Of course, even the most well prepared Companion could be caught off guard. Being caught off guard was the reason Cass had made her way to the medbay that evening. While she couldn’t say for sure who it was, she had been jumped by several men on her way back to her quarters, and she had a feeling that the ringleader was a man she had recently turned away when he came to request her services. Her wounds probably looked worse than they were. She at least knew she had a fair amount of blood on her face - but she made her way to the medbay under her own power and was quickly ushered into one of the side rooms by one of the medics who helped her up onto one of the exam tables before taking off to get his supervisor. It wasn’t until she had settled in with a groan that she glanced over at the table next to her, her heart dropping from her chest when she saw that Owen was seated upon it. Owen, whom she was trying to give space. Owen, who still took her breath away every time she saw him. Owen, who wanted nothing to do with her. Cass probably looked like a deer in the headlights as she stared at him for a long moment before she was able to gather any sort of sense. “O-- Walker. Hi...” Well, that was articulate.
