Cute Owl Coasters!
The other day a friend was asking why I would be crocheting in the summer. When I responded informing him that crochet isn't simply a winter "sport", he couldn't believe what I was saying until I showed him examples of useful objects and pieces made out of crochet. See! I said to told him, explaining that crochet didn't simply equate to warm jumpers and blankets - you can do so much more!
So today I've got for you a set of owl coasters that I made a few weeks ago for my manager at work. She's owl-obsessed in every shape and form so I thought these would be perfect for her as a thank you gift!
These were so much fun to make and are super easy to make too - as long as you understand you basic single crochet, slip stitch... nothing too fancy, you'll be able to nail this for sure!
For the pattern design, I customised this free pattern by Bonna Chaplain to suit my needs. All I basically did was make it smaller and simpler overall. I preferred a more minimalist look to emphasise the owl's 'face' and eyes.
