Po3 shadowclan background characters!!

Owlclaw! I feel kind of bad for him, despite being apprenticed at the same time as Ivytail he remains an apprentice the entire year of The Power of Three arc. Tawnypelt's kits are born and apprenticed before he gets his warrior name. I'd like to say the authors forgot, but also it's kind of silly to think he had his own "three assessments!" moment going on in the background way before Nightheart appears as a protagonist, but I digress. He is pretty stock shadowclan, proud of his skills and distainful of thunderclan. He mocks jaypaw in the only battle jay fights in as an apprentice, before getting his tail handed to him by lionblaze for taunting his brother. He boasts that he can beat any thunderclan cat at hunting in the daylight gathering, and is upset when he isn't chosen as the winner of his challenge because lionpaw and Breezepaw fall in a badger set and almost die, no big. He's just kind of interesting idk he challenges berrynose to a jumping contest in the background of a gathering once. He's the warrior that notices Lionblaze kills Russetfur first, and yells out in shock. He's in some more patrols and battles but those are the notable ones. His last appearance is in Bramblestar's SE as a warrior.

I didn't remember anything about him so I checked his wiki page and apparently he's terrible lmao like he taunts Jaypaw for being blind and attacks him, says Firestar is destroying the Warrior code by letting non-clan cats in, and gets mad when he didn't get crowned Best Hunter (Lionpaw and Breezepaw almost died)

reworked Yellowfang family tree!

as always, lots of inspiration taken from bonefall's trees, however his shadowclan tree hasn't yet been finished. I took bits and peices from scattered posts haha

i use bone's 3 strict rules for fixing trees, with the tweak that characters must be more distant than second cousins to be compatible, rather than first. most important to know is the Queen's Rights.

I don't consider Stumptail's decendants as YellowKin, as their connection to Yellowfang isn't relevant anymore. They were included here for the sake of showing the whole tree.

Changes made:

Silverflame is said to have 3 kittens in Tallstar's revenge. They're now full characters.

Yellowfang is now from a separate, older litter than her siblings. She's as old as she was said to be in TPB.

Cinderfur is no longer a ClawRowan kit, and is instead Ashflame (Ashfur ShC)'s kit, alongside Ashheart. Soot siblings.

Quietkit, Rubblekit and Turtlekit were originally Cinderfur's, but after his death, they were raised by Ashheart and Stumptail. the two are not mates, but aren't exactly friends either. QPR <3

Mintkit and Marigoldkit are now Yellowfang's nepsring, rather than siblings. Why were ANCIENT Yellowfang's even more ANCIENT parents having kittens??? hello???

Yellowfang's accusation is changed; only Marigoldkit dies. Mintkit testifies against her.

Discostep is a 'glitch warrior' so minute not even the wiki has a page on her, but me and many other Better Bones fans have grown attached <3 she's named after the Nut Disco mushroom and is a brindled bicolour to match! she and Quietnose are married lesbians and I'm basing them on my relationship with my partner <3 QuietDisco <3

Pinenose and Crowfrost are now QuietDisco kits. I really wanted Crowfrost to be Discostep's son haha, she gets to live wayyyy longer than she probably should. blorbo <3

Pinenose and Owlclaw had a brief relationship which was broken up by grief after Weaselkit's death in the great battle. Pinenose got with Spikefur and had a second litter very soon after.

I was gonna have Birchbark be Antfur's mate, but he doesn't live long enough, so I gave him Whorlpelt as a son to extend the bloodline.

Antfur lives until ASC, and dies to Berryheart's hate movement. Whorlpelt was a part of this movement, but began to have doubts after his ex-mate's death.

Antfur is also a girl now lmao. woman beam GO

Wishkit and Hopekit were removed due to worldbuilding changes; kittens who die before 1 moon old are believed to be Starclan warriors who 'fell in' to the litter, and are not named or grieved. Yellowfang's distress over her 2 dead kits is instead because it shows how much Starclan believed they needed to watch her.

Currently I have Wishkit and Hopekit cut, because they're too noteworthy to just be put anywhere, but I really want to save them. I just don't know where to put them. I may make them Brokenstar's daughters.

Brokenstar and Newtspeck are the parents of Littlecloud and Rowanclaw. They are not mates; it was an honor siring. Littlecloud is now younger, and an apprentice when he met Cinderpelt.

Rowanclaw is trans; his 2 litters were honor-sired by Brambleclaw.

Tawnypelt and Rowanclaw have two litters, to eliminate the age gap between Tigerheart and Dovewing. Dawnpelt and Flametail are part of the older one, while Dandilionkit, Heartstar and Juniperkit are the younger.

Tigerkit was initially named Flowerkit after Goldenflower, but after her sibling's young deaths, Tawnypelt renamed her as a challenge to the stars.

Strikestone and Nettlesplash had a very brief fling during the period where Skyclan and Shadowclan were combined. They split apart alongside their clans while Strikestone was pregnant.

Pouncestep is now Strikestone's daughter so Dovewing's first litter can have a consistent naming theme.

Frondwhisker is also Strikestone's daughter for similar reasons; she was the 'nobody' of her canon litter, and I felt Pounce needed a sibling.
