━ as grateful as he was toward lily for turning him, he didn’t actually consider himself among her family. how could he be? he wasn’t segregated with them in their prison world. not to mention the fact that his nagging younger brother’s empathy was growing stronger every day. news of their arrival back in the present had traveled fast and the newly made heretic found his way to the salvatore manor. for no real reason other than ━ where else did he have to go? still having the personality of a five year old and relying on wits and sarcasm to get through human/supernatural interaction, when she stopped him all he could do was hold up his glass. “i’m here for a drink, you want?” instead of bringing it to his own lips, he moved around the stand with the alcohol and offered it to the dark-haired woman. she didn’t move to take it and she certainly didn’t look amused. “i really am trying to be different. i don’t have a choice.” luke’s humanity was eating away at him.

He hated this. Being sick was one thing - hardly pleasant, one of the worse things that could happen to someone - but spiking a fever in the middle of a heat wave? He felt like he was burning up, and he wanted to collapse, but he wouldn’t let himself. A quiet grumble escaped his lips as he shot a short look towards his sister, body stretching out over his bed dramatically. “Let me wallow in my own misery in peace.”

━ the truth was, kai knew on some level he was getting to elena ━ and in a good way, this time. he had proven that he was trying to be good and she had been the first one to accept this new version of himself. maybe subconsciously he had licked at his lips, nibbling down on his bottom one, in an effort to attract a different kind of attention from her. what surprised him was that it was getting to her enough to the point where she had to verbally reprimand him. “why, princess?” smirk on his face, voice dripping with a teasing tone. “is it getting to you? does it make you want to kiss me?”
