Also apparently its becoming an anime?? Which is half the reason I decided to indulge. 10/10 story- also definently some inspo points

TLDR- Girl gets reincarnated as the villanous she had so hopelessly craved a redemption arc for. Now she works to give her that redemption, however the original "hero" arrives and decides to try and seal her fate. Utterly distraught, the girl faints, and what wakes up is the villaness who has been looming in the back of her own mind, ready to take revenge on those who hurt the girl she had come to love so dearly.

I love that Remi and Emi were able to have their first face-to-face conversation and be honest about their own lives and desires.

That Remi was able to find joy in being alive is a beautiful thing, considering everything she's been through up until now.

By the way, the fact that the real Pina was able to have a better life this time around and was even reborn on her own terms is something I really like, as she, too, had lived quite miserably before and after Rina's possession.

My wish is that everyone is happy for the rest of their lives. They all truly deserve it.

Emi reincarnates into the star maiden instead of Remilia. Remilia still manages to learn to love her anyways. School era fluff fic about them meeting and interacting <3 Could be read as either shippy or platonic

Pina decides that her current conquests are great and all, but what she really wants is Remilia among those begging for her attention. And luckily for her, this villainess came pre-equipped touch starved and desperate for love. (Either stick to Pina's dumb bitch tendencies and make her incompetence part of the game or give her a few brain cells. That first thing sounds more interesting tho. We're also talking original, Emi-less Remilia who's on the path to destroying the world (but might get distracted from it via toxic yuri beams. Pina does not know what she's about to inflict on herself.))

Blanche, the original star maiden, beats the shit out of Pina. That's it, that's the fic.

Sofia (Remilia's knight) and Pina wind up on some sort of adventure and its just. Pages of Pina being a whiny little bitch about everything while Sofia physically restrains herself from actually murdering her. Similar energy to the Izuna and Tobirama unwilling field trip of doom au but somehow Pina is even brattier than a 13 year old Izuna and Sofia wants to strangle her even more than Tobirama does his own annoyance. Sofia and the dead weight she hates too much to play along with but is too chivalrous to see die <3 On an adventure <3 Oh boy I sure hope nothing bad happens <3 (Don't ask me what happens, I dont fucking know. I just want to see them locked in a situation together bc I think itd be funny)

Angel would probably also be very interesting to throw into Naruto for a crossover. Same goes for his brother too but like. Angel,,,,,, my king,,, could be cute, could be interesting. I can totally see him picking up Naruto and tucking him under his arm

Thorne and Viscount Lorraine could be a ship,, they could be cute,, is all,, That's the full thought tbh, I should write something for them.

Thorne suffers through noble courts as the now publicly known demon head of their demon village <3 Lots of people show interest in him; ranging from old customers he lost contact with when he was forced to go underground to those soley interested in his "exotic" looks and "inspiring" story. Thorne is mostly good at dealing with this, because merchant, but has never had to deal with quite so much of it for so long, nor on this scale. Throughout it all, Viscount Lorraine and Countess Dorelias remain his steady allies and do their best to introduce him to proper life at court <3

Obligatory "What if Pina succeeded at locking Thorne in her dungeon to put to work making potions for her" au. YES I WAKE UP AND THINK ABOUT THE OFFICIAL ART OF THIS AU EVERY SINGLE DAY. Silly fluffy Remilia and Angel fic ab their wedding. And it's like, told from the POV of all their friends rushing around getting it all ready. All the demon kids are screaming crying throwing up begging to help decorate and be flower girls and boys. Thorne is NOT screaming or throwing up but he is also crying subtly in the corner no one look at him. It's fine tho because Sofia is also tearing up. Pretty much everyone is, actually. Somehow Remilia ends up the only one not crying on her wedding day (it's one of the happiest days she can remember in a long time. She makes sure to save an empty chair for Emi)

i read ur villainess manga in one go last night and out of all the characters i couldve fixated on i cant stop thinking about pina

like dont get me wrong!!! remilllia is so intresting with her neruoses, with how she does great acts of kindness in the name of the one she loves bc thats what emi would do but has to wrestle with her own darker desires!!!! like her thoughts doesnt negate the good she does but

the fact that no one sees pastss remillas mask is!!! it makes me feel things!!!

but one thought that kept on popping up when i was reading was that pina was basically remillia without emi (look no one who grows up in a fulfilling and loving environment fixates on gaining as much love as she can from as many people as she can through any means necesary, and feels threatened at the prospect of not being loved, clings to the structre of how the world is 'supposed' to be that essentially secures their place at the top, or feels the need to appear greater and grander every time)(except she's too dumb to succede) and she even gets no redemption in the end like the remillia of the original story!!! like we get no info about her past or who she was aside from the fact that also played the game and has serious projection issues (accusing emi of trying to get a reverse harem and calling it disgusting while also doing the same!!! like she's a massive hypocrite and it's so fascinating,,,,, on some level she recognizes her actions as shameful, but she either has some massive cognitive dissonance going on or is so deep in denial she's hallucinating(which she did lol))

overall it was an enjoyable read 👍

GIRL DOES SEEM TO BE STRAIGHT UP LIVING IN HER OWN FANTASY LAND SOMETIMES TBH, I wouldn't be surprised if she were dealing with some delusions over there. If nothing else she clearly has "delusions of grandeur" on the list to check off.

I looveee her scene with Emi where she basically self reports by getting on her about the reverse harem, she's so hypocritical and see through <33 Her face is paper thin and seemingly as shallow as a puddle, but who knows what's fueling that,, She really does read as someone terribly lonely and desperate in the worst ways, which is so fascinating <33

I love how u put it tbh, I don't think I can put it any better. She's so interesting !! We know so little about her !! There's clearly something wrong with her, but we can only guess as to whatever's fueling it besides a clear near desperation for love and attention that consistently numbs and blinds her to everything else. She should get that checked out tbh

Man. Now I just wanna see a fic where we pull Pina out of her little pocket of hell she ends up in the end of the manga for agood old fashioned hurt/comfort "and also lets put you under a microscope to see how you tick" redemption arc. Or something. Those are always a classic to me tbh

Remilia makes me so sick, I love her and her little masks no one ever sees past so much.

I love how we also have no idea whatsoever about how much of it is really a mask, and how much is just Remilia lying and rationalizing things to herself-- she clearly thinks of herself as a villain, as a wretched woman, all that stuff. And yeah, I mean, she's definitely a plotter and a schemer but we see her do incredibly kind things too-- and every single time, she justifies it with excuses on how she's not being herself, but Emi's Remilia

But who is Emi's Remilia? Is she not just Remilia herself, or is she really entirely fantasy? Does Remilia being over-conscious of her perceived kindness cancel out the kindness alltogether? Or does it just mean she refuses to acknowledge the kindness for what it is-- kindness. Instead calling it things like charity or insisting it's all a part of her grand plot

She literally gets with a guy who can see through all lies !!!!!! The lying little liar who lied, whos entire identity is built on lies, chooses the man who can see through lies to be her life partner !!!!!!! Does Angel not seeing through her mask not say something about the validity of said pretenses?

Of course, Remilia is a liar and an actor and she does wear a mask all the time-- I just love so much thinking about how much of that mask is really an act, and how much is just this massive cognitive dissonance of a girl who has a hard time recognizing and rationalizing her own kindness

Theyre so fucking cute I'm gonna throw up, I love their interactions. Thorne exists in some sort of perpetual state of "mildly uncomfortable" and Lorraine is so loud and overbearing in such an unapologetic way, it's so fun to see.

Thorne being "seen through" by Lorraine and feeling upset by it while Lorraine finds that side of him "charming" ,,,

I like how he says "You are actually quite charming", like, before he was presumably just another friendly merchant. A type of person Lorraine has for sure seen plenty of before, being who he is. But in seeing his smug side in just a quiet little expression, Lorraine is suddenly so much more endeared

I also have to wonder a bit at what exactly made Thorne feel so seen here. Was it his smugness at seeing things line up well? Or was it his fondness and pride in Remilia and his king? There are definitely a few different ways to read it

(i’m trying to so hard to be normal about this) bird. one within the villainess vol 1 is now available for preorder in the US. im about to vibrate out of my skin. it has a 2027 release date (just in time for the anime hell yeah) and i’m going to be sitting by my door waiting for it.

this is the single greatest piece of news I've ever heard in my entire life. Im gonna need at least a week to compute or else I'll explode into a billion bloody bits. Im about to give this manga my entire wallet with absoloutley no regrets
