The Orb - Oxbow Lakes
The Mighty Boosh - Mutants (television episode)
After Howard tells Vince that his face is visually noisy, like a brass band, Vince says that Howard’s face is ambient, like The Orb’s third album (Orbus Terrarum). The song Oxbow Lakes is the third track from that album.
There are more people in the world that know how oxbow lakes form... than people who have actually seen oxbow lakes in real life.
Education systems are weird.

are you ever just,, thinkin about oxbow lakes?
Her feet hurt like hell, but she’d been dancing for several hours and the club was closing soon. There were probably only a few people left on the floor and Joe had picked the perfect track to close out on: the new Dead Can Dance and “Dawn of the Iconoclast”. Everyone stopped, started to sway, and swept their arms in slow, graceful circles.
The track ended suddenly and Joe announced, “OK, sorry folks. It’s that time,” before the harsh overhead lights snapped on.
Sara stood, momentarily blinded and looked around at the other blinking hold-outs. Kelly wobbled and shielded her eyes, then waved meekly across the room.
As they walked out to the parking lot, Kris and Jim joined them. Kris was hunting in his jacket for a pack of cigarettes and Jim was jangling his car keys.
“You up for some Denny’s?” Jim asked. “I could really go for some mozzarella sticks right now.”
Beth scratched at her sides. “I just want out of this corset.”
“I could help you with that,” Kris offered.
Jim unlocked the back of his Volvo station wagon and rummaged around in the back. He found a sweatshirt and handed it to Kelly. “Sorry it’s not your school.”
“It’s my size,” she said and pulled it on.
Kris slipped his hands in the back of Kelly’s shirt and there was a loud popping sound.
Sara was sitting in the passenger seat with her long legs sticking out, unbuckling her boots. “Joe was really great tonight. Just the right mix of hard and soft.”
“Mm-hum,” Kelly purred. Kris was rubbing her sides under the sweatshirt. “Nice and hard.”
A security guard was watching from the side of the building.
“OK guys,” Jim said, shaking his keys. “Let’s go before Mayberry RFD over there starts something.”
