Boobe -- Cadillacs (Mixtape, 2011)

I'm guessing this didn't stick as well as Boobe had hoped, which would explain why Boobe's camp just put out that Luger-lite track with Trel but don't be fooled, tracks like this is why the new mixtape should be looked forward to.

This shit is wayyy fresher than that show-tune knockoff with Raheem he's been pushing for the past, what, almost a year now? The Oy Boyz are a from a fundamentally different DC hip-hop era, namely an insular one, and seeing Boobe reaching with that track was just kind of...not sad, but disheartening maybe.

One of the related videos to this "Caddylacs" video (aside from this one showcasing said 'lacs) is a ThisIs50 interview with Boobe and the first question he's asked is how DMV music differs from music anywhere else and of course he answers in go-go terms. But he doesn't say a thing about DC rap, probably because there really isn't an answer or at least an answer simple enough to use in a ThisIs50 interview, and it's becomes plenty obvious in songs like "My Way" being produced by J.U.S.T.I.C.E. league and pushed as a #DMVanthem.

On a side note, I saw the Redskin's Caddy once during some nameless weekend last year and that very same night, I hazily remember getting with a woman nearly a decade older. I can't say in any certain terms that the two had any causal relationship but I can't say they did not either. Praise Boobe.
