So just a thing I really like with Shoto, that doesnt translate well to English is the way he is both incredibly rude, but also honest.

As his biopage notes(Here with a very lukewarm translation), he is very rude.

Todoroki never speaks with honorifcs, which is an incredibly rude thing to do in Japanese society, but it's not because he looks down on everyone else(Not usually anyway), but because his upbrigning made him believe at an early age that such niceties was pointless, and a worthless waste of time.

Despite being a very kind boy, he simply isn't one for unessecary niceties, to keep up appearances of being polite.

He also uses the Word "Oyaji" to describe Endeavor. Literaily meaning, Old Man.

Now as any One Piece Fan could tell you, this can be used to refer to your dad in an affectionate way, but that's not how Todoroki uses it.

Not only does he use this to refer to his middle aged man, essentially calling him an old geezer withouth a hint of warmth, but he's called him this since childhood.

Dont let the way translators(official or othervise) translate his way of refering to Endeavor as Daddy, or dad mislead you. Shoto has called Enji an old geezer since he was a little kid.

It's also bleeds into how he acts in general. When he's relieved Enji survived, he made an actual, on the spot prayer, which can come across as kinda jarring if you havent been able to pick up on how Shoto works in general, because this is just who he is.

Honest and straightforward to a tee, wheter rude or happy.
